I want to paint my gun
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend good primer, paint and clearacoat. I want to paint my gun and I was wondering if there is anything better than Rustoleum . If I can make the paint look good than maybe I would try Duracoating it at a later date.

Good idea DKO never thought about that they are bullet proof just watch the kids get off of them my Dad would have kicked my ass if I treated a bike like the kids do now jump off and wherever it lands is good!!!
You might consider doing what Tim M does with the frames for his LD pistols, send it to the local bike shop.
Next time they are painting frames black, they can include your parts. Bikes have seriously tough paint, bike shops have sorted out how to get it put on so it stays.

That looks like the stuff I want. I also saw Some Gun-Kote, u think it is worth the extra money. I think it was almost $40 per 6 oz can?

If you’re going to do it, do it right the first time. You don’t want to have to strip off rustoleum and use something proper.
Any of the Brownells finishes are good. I can recommend Alumahyde II. Simply spray on in progressive coats and let cure (a week or 2). Cure time is long but you can speed it up in the oven at about 250 for a few hours. If you don’t smell the paint when it’s pulled from the oven and allowed to cool, it is cured well enough for reassembly. It’s durable as snot and is available in several gun colors.
If you don’t know how to use a spray can I would suggest let someone who does do it. Get a few extra spray nozzles for the can.. they’ll get clogged and it won’t spray well.
