Simple Bandsaw mod
When you try to hold small pieces in the vice the vice tends to tilt because its only secured at one point which results in this –
Which isnt held securely at all. Sometimes I’d have another peice of what I want to cut and put that in the back, but the times when I dont have anything the right size can be a pain.
Drilled and tapped a hole for a 3/8 16tpi bolt (biggest tap I had) in the moving part of the vice –
Which lets me use a bolt to keep the vice jaws parralel

That is what I have been doing as well.
But now if you are cutting something of odd size you no longer have to try find something of the same size.
I have for about 30 years always take a piece the same width and put it in the other side of the vise to even out the pressure..it has always worked just fine.

I guess one of the perks of never throwing away anything is you always have something the right size… 😆
But then again you cant walk through my shop sideways..
