Q:

Blod valve 4K?

Can a blod valve take say 4K psi? I just got a new 68CI 4500 psi CF tank and I am in the process of converting my Condor to a 9mm hunter. It would be nice to be able to harness the 4K psi behind that 9mm slug.

I will be replacing the BD to suitable rated ones of course.

Mam, yes I have seen some and killed a few but thats with a crossbow. I wouldnt dare try to take a 300lb pissed feral out with my bb gun 🙂 (yet anyway.)

I know the spring will have to be replaced, I am actually working on a spring replacement solution right now, designing a simple low pressure air spring to replace the condors hammer/spring entirely. It will ride the barrel to boot. I am hoping it will help with the consistancey and allow me to fine tune the system by changing the interal pressure of the spring via fill/bleed vave. It could end up being a nightmare though if it leaks at all.

I dont trust myself yet with machining the high pressure stuff so I want to use or modify something that already exists for the valve. My dream would be to get the thing to work on 4500psi with a .308 barrel.

Ive run em at 300 bar in the past but it needs a serious hammer n spring.
Bottles are stamped 348 bar. but i dont recomend any 1 else try it.

if it is a usa valve it will not work as the burst disk will blow

And while I am thinking about it…Are you helping the guys in Sienna Plantation with the hog problem???

I am not sure about 4,000psi but, the more PSI you put behind the valve
the harder it will be to open…You might need a stiffer spring and heavier
hammer…
