Shroud Paint?
Has anyone else had problems with their shroud losing paint real easy? I am pretty rough on my guns but the paint is coming off pretty easy on that shroud.

Hey MEKONE that’s a sweet lookin setup.
Jamie,what I did was get a piece of rubber pipe insulation and fit it over the shroud so that if I lean it up against anything it won’t get scratched or dinged up,it works pretty good.I also made a few holes in it and use it as a pellet holder as well,it’s made out of the same rubber like material.
I also have one that covers the entire shroud.
go get some good auto header paint it usually is flat or the stuff i have is and matched the air force finish very well,get a good couple of coats on it, then take a propane torch and heat it up evenly,but not to close to burn paint.

Jamie… I’d recommend a Brownell’s paint like Alumahyde II for re-painting the shroud. Just be sure it’s degreased and clean and that stuff won’t come off, I promise. Nothing like a normal spray paint.
If you mean shroud as in the end of the frame, it is anodized and should not flake off. It will wear if continually rubbed on. You could paint it also… taping up places you don’t want paint to go, or touch it up with a sharpie.

You can take it to a powdercoater for $20 or at least that’s what they charge around here for a part that size and it will hold up better just my .02
