Need help problems with my Talon.
My Talon has lost velocity and shots per fill. I was getting 45 shots in a 30 fps spread early last month now I am only getting 30 shots in a 30 fps spread and with a 25-30 fps drop in velocity. I was getting the same 30 shots in 30 fps before I cleaned my Talon. The only change is that it is getting a little colder(75 degrees last month and 50 degrees now). Any ideas?

If you bought your gun well-used with OEM o-rings, you’ll likely see a nice uptick.
Even if you bought it new you’ll have a more efficient gun.
Don’t forget the diver’s silicone (or plumbers silicone) when installing the new rings.
I will post a string when I get a chance.
Check if the valve stem is binding. I had issues with over-lubing and a binding valvestem at the same time.

Ok I think I have it figured out. I took it apart and relubed it and put it back together the same way I did before to no avail. Next I used silicone oil instead of grease and that done the trick, now the numbers are much better. I will still change the breech o-rings when I get them. Should I see and increase in velocity with new o-rings? more shots per fill? or just a more efficient rifle?

HPA and they look good but I have not changed them in 11,500+ shots.
Try changing them.

To be honest, it sounds as though you may have over lubed the gun…if after cleaning it likes a lower fill pressure… maybe something is sticking a bit?
Perhaps you underlubed, in fact… creating a bit of friction?
I’d tear it down and clean all the parts… be very, very sparing with the silicon grease and give it another go.
Are you using CO2 or HPA?
How are your breech O-Rings?
I’ll assume the fill pressure is the same? Are you shooting indoors or outdoors?
Yes the fill pressure is the same except after I cleaned my rifle it did not like a 2,750 psi fill instead it liked a 2,550 psi fill. I am shooting outdoors.
Would be helpful if we could see a shot string before and after.
