Q:

Condor .25 LW Poly barrel –> icw ?hammer weight?spring?

He guys, since the Grey GP Stealth made place 4 the AF Condor, my customizing project with the Condor has started.

The gun is totally original…

Specs:

– original 67grams hammer (2 pieces, 1 piece 48 grams same as Talon)
– original hammerspring
– original 24″ .22 barrel
– Hight flow valve (I’m doing the more airflow mods later this week)

The .22 barrel has to make place for a .25 24″ Lothar Walther Poly barrel…

My question is: what hammer weight would be suitable for shooting .25 Eun Jins roundheads in the higher velocity ranges, say about 950fps…

The way, you describe the technique to set up the TH I already knew and done 😉 on the Stealth…getting a bellcurve…just was wondering if someone had a direct hit on the amount of grams the hammer should be at / around. If I use a 100 grams hammer, I think I find the movement of the gun at shot release to big…so I was looking for something lighter icw lower fillpressure…

Heard on my Dutch airgunforum that the original hamerweight should work fine (around 68 grams) for the .25

Only not knowing what m/s the Eun Jin will do with this weight…hmm..liked it about 300 – 320 m/s….and around 20/30 shots with a bellcurve starting just under the max velocity and ending just under max velocity…

Today I was trying to get the Valve out of the bottle, man it sits tight! No movement at all…will be fixed later on this week. Al the internals of the valve are already out and polished (valvestem, tophat, flatned the spring) I think I do not have to do a lot of work on the retainerscrew while its a hi flow one, just one big hole through…

Bought a Poly after reading some topics on the Dutch forum and calling with the manufacturer Lothar Walther, for less bullet friction and therefor a little higher velocity. This can be used to use less air with the same velocity as a standard barrel. Or push heavier bullets just that few fps faster…Accuracy still be the same as normal barrels, when the crownjob is done properly

Why mess with a design that is good? WOK openly shares his designs. If he wouldn’t want someone to copy it he’d make it more difficult for them, right?

As for hammerweight. I prefer hammerspring preload over hammerweight. I personally use a 23gram hammer in my .25 beit with a custom valve. I have used the condor porting size on a .32. IMHO the condor valve is way overkill for everything under .25. Unless you use Jerry’s slugs.

But if you want a heavier hammer start with 100 gram with your powerweal at 5 and a 180bar fill. Then start testing. If you get a shotstring with only decreasing velocity, remove 5 grams from your hammer. Do this untill you see the powercurve flattening. Then remove 2 grams at a time untill you sea a platue in your velocitie. Once you found that platue figure out your fillpressure so you get 5 climbing shots a platue and a few descending shots! Then fill at that determined fill pressure and screw in the tophat so that it’s minimal without loosing power. That way you conserve air!

I don’t say this is the only way just the way I do it.

BTW Daan why did you go for a poly barrel? Not that they can’t be accurate.

Marc

I say 90 grm hammer also.

If you are gonna make your own butt, why copy someone elses design? Looks like you have the skill and tools to come up with your own idea and design? Much more satisfiying 😉

We will wait with impatience 😉 😉 😉 😉

I think with a 90/100 grams hammer it’s good.
