Ok i shot the gun a lot this morning. currently i have a 40 dollar shotgunscope on the rifle
i am awaiting my new scope mounts and scope stop. also i am not a springer guy i havent shot one in a long time and never a magnum springer
i was shooting at 19 yards (living room through dining room and kitchen) when the weather is nice ill get outside and stretch it out some
the crow mags were good as well as cheapo daisy precision max, and the cp’s were good as well
the kodiaks sucked which surprised me
i have some jsb 18’s coming in tomorrow as well as Poly mags, and jsb monsters

what do you think? once i get my good scope and some more trigger time in i think i can do quite well with this
also the groups were shot off a tv traytable using my sweatshirt as a rest
but i also did some shooting off hand and the gun isnt very hold sensative its pretty much same no matter how gently or rough i hold it

I do it this way:
use a good spring bathroom scale with a board/plywood to spread the force.
weigh gun say 6 pounds….
place butt on the board, hand on barrel and cock it to the point of peak force.
Do it smoothly and back and forth a bit to determine the best nominal force.
Once you have the hang of it you will get a number say 66 pounds in Crows case…. so 66 pounds less 6 pound rifle = 60 pounds cocking force
now as to Tom Gaylords method….. hands up!

Good question. I would also like to know how to measure cocking force? Tom G in the pyramydair blog always lists the cocking force when testing a gun but I don’t know if he tells how.

it has less than 300 through it
so im gonna run 1000 through it befor doing anything to it

nice groups, once my elite gets the gas ram installed i will be getting groups like that..
I’m not a springer guy either but I got good enough to shoot my HW97k about that well at 30yrds using a stable table and rest.
Given your table and rest, I’d be happy with those. I could not have done that with my Nitro.
