Q:

New member – British Gunpower Stealth owner!

Hello guys,

I presume this is right place to post a thread concerning the G/P Stealth? I think you guys know the gun as the Talon?

I know the original British designer of both guns, he lives very close by to me in Ashford (Geoff Darville), in fact I collected my gun personally from him. I wonder if he comes on here too, what a clever chap he is ?

Well I have finally decided to take the plunge and join this American based forum. I do hope that we Brit’s are welcome here – if this helps, My son has just come home from Afghanistan, he served with the local T.A infantry regiment the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment (3PWRR) and NO it’s not a Welsh regiment as most people think, it’s the infantry regiment serving the South East of England.

I’m a 46 year old retired Copper now indulging in my preferred hobbies –

Airgun Hunting
Motorcycling (big trail bike rider)
Sea Fishing
Transcribing civic War Memorials in Kent (see my website)

I have owned a Gunpower Stealth for about 2 years and have kept it standard. I have considered uprating the stupidly flimsey plastic stock which annoys me no end. I have fitted an Airforce 4-16X50 scope which I’m very happy with although I am thinking of changing it to a Leaper SWAT scope. I’m a fan of Leaper SWAT scopes and own 3 of them.

Where can I obtain a better (standard Black) pistol grip from?

I love the rifle and to date it has killed –

123 Rabbits
298 Feral Pigeons (Collard Doves and Wood Pigeons)
980 Rats

I possess 4 airguns –

Gunpower Stealth .22
Original / Diana 48/52 .177 (1992 sidelever) for HFT
Original 45 .22 (my back-up gun)
SMK QB79 .22 (My new Ratting carbine) – Chinese excellence!

It’s interesting to see that in the States English guns are quite popular – Air Arms, BSA, Webley, Daystate, Falcon’s etc…. In my opinion the Germans and Brits make some of the world’s best firearms. That said I’m quite a fan of American Crosman’s which are marketed in the UK under a number of names. I’m a fan of the German Winerack’s too.

My real interest is springers and not PCP rifles. I find that good old fashioned springers are less likely to go wrong.

I look forward to posting a few threads here on this forum. Perhaps someone can tell me where the Brits normally hang out on here?

Welcome.

We are a like a bunch of swearing, cursing, immature 10 year old boys, with a wealth of knowledge.

If that does not bother you, you will fit right in.

Cheers mate.
