Q:

launched my shroud today…………………..

after some accuracy issues I was advised to spin the shroud to gain the clearance I needed to stop clipping, well I did so and was happy with the results, today I loaded in some of my new 28.4gr eunjins, and fired a round…………………..which proceeded to rip/launch the shroud about 10 yards downrange……………..slipped it back on, respun, re shot the original pellets and all was fine…………….now I’m scared to shoot the bigger pellets again………………….. hehehe maybe after my AZ trip

Shroud? You haven’t lived until you launch a barrel ❗

a barrel???? the shroud scared me enough, if I launched a barrel I woulda really freaked out

We find in the UK, mere pellets are not enough for bigger game.
I have had to launch my barrel AND scope before to take down an adult size rabbit in full stride 😯 (I had the bottle ready just in case this wasn’t enough 😉 )

Mr-Lama, your avatar has been bothering me for some time now. I want to be sure you understand this….so pay attention!

FIRST: You take the fur OFF the critter…

SECOND: THEN you eat the meat on the son of a bitch! NOT the other way round! 😕

Didn’t the hairy taste in your mouth give you a clue??? Just slow down, and don’t start on these things till you get home and have time to think.

Well, at least you started with the head…it could have been a lot worse.

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot

PS: Take a hint from ROC! Now THERE’S a man who knows his avatars!

It’s a learning process. I’ll get it down one day. 😆

Yeah, just air.

High pressure’s can do some crazy stuff.

An extremely high pressure but thin stream of air can cut into things pretty easily. I put a hole in a pillow once on accident by shooting it with just the air from the condor without the shroud on. Tore right through it.

drill a spot in the shroud so the screw goes into in slightly.

I had to redo my shroud after i turned the gun up to 1000 plus with heavy pellets.i had been shooting 15 grainers at 850 or so.

It would try and move the shroud every shot , so yes the back pressure the shroud causes is allot with the gun turned up ,thats alot of air.

. I haven’t shot it off yet but i did forget to put the screw into the baffle , and shot it out of the shroud.

so is it the air pressure from the HPA tank blowing it off, and NOT a pellet hitting it and tearing it off??

Mine is even threaded in two places so the set screw doesn’t hold it down with pressure, it actually goes into the shroud to lock it in, no possibility of moving at all.

However, if you work on it and forget to put the screws back in, it’ll shoot off anyway. 😆

😳
2 different shrouds/guns… I never learn.

All of us?—

Well, OK, You caught me. 😳
