Q:

Had some .25 cal fun at 85 yards today.

This is a 3 inch lead fishing weight, hung at 85 yards from my bench. Twenty shots produced eighteen hits, the two misses were my fault pulling them left. Fun target.

What kind of power/shot count are you achieving?

Waiting on the big brown truck, i haven’t shot it over the chrony, or for serious groups since messing with the valve and hammer a bit. Will post some results soon.

kinda figured you had one cause the frame cap is off.

maw took the words right out of my mouth, only thing missing is a shroud.

If you can shoot that mutha without one then its time to get out the powder burners.!!! 😯 😯

I recently experienced serious accuracy problems, it turned out to be the shroud, removed it and it’s a tachdriver again. The first baffle seems to have moved, causing it to clip and then skip off every baffle after it in the shroud. It may be due to the increase of pressure recently added with the blodvalve, i only used a Talon valve before. Anyway the shroud is getting sent out to get worked over, and in the mean time, i’m shooting au naturale. Luckily, it doesn’t matter here, no worries about noise, i shoot powderburners all the time, but i seem to pick up an airgun 20 to 1 or more. The 85 yard range out my office window is perfect for an airgun. 😀

Damn, the ricochet would kill me (. Ive got about 50 yards indoors at my shop but there are always customer vehicles in the building. A ricochet couldnt leave that big of a mark after hitting that lead could it? )

You got the first part right, it could kill you, or it could kill someone else, not to mention property damage. I have 1000’s of acres of timberland as a backstop, with very dense trees behind it, i have nothing to worry about. I worried about posting this for someone trying it in a poor environment, but they are responsible for themselves i guess. Please, don’t try this at home.

Sweet target ) Where do you get those? I guess you need to live near places that have water eh?

Cabelas, bass pro shops, any place that sells saltwater fishing gear. I got mine at my local fred meyer(like wall mart only U.S. owned) super store. They are used for deep fishing using downriggers while trolling. Beware have a known backstop, richocets out to 45 degrees in all directions are common, not good for a suburban environment, or neighbors. They are fun as you can tell where you hit by how it swings afterward. I think it was 5 bucks, will last a long time if you don’t shoot the eye loop off them. 😀 Satisfying thwack report. 😈

Looks like that moon just might weigh a bit more now. 😉
