Q:

Talon frame is fluting the breech! HELP!!

I noticed today that the breech has long deep cuts in it about the size of a bb. It has been getting hard to pull back from the cocked position, and has dud shots constantly.

Thanks guys, I fixed the grinding! The o-rings looked fine so i think i’ll try to get 1000 more shots before i replace them. Thanks again you guys are great!! 😛 😛

Yes, but i don’t think it had instructions about how to disassemble it. It’s apart now anyway. What kind of lube should i use? will dielectric grease work?

No “grease”! Get a can of “Dry” silicone spray for the metal to metal contact, just a light coat on the inside of the frame. Silicone (divers) grease is for the o-rings only, and you might as well replace ’em while the gun’s apart.

If you’ve got it apart, then what’s been grinding the grooves on the breech? Last question, is that an OEM breech or aftermarket?

It’s good for cleaning the rifle and what’s inside.

DVD shows how to remove barrel. I forget if it shows hammer / breech removal. It is not hard to do though. with patients you will get it. 😀

Time to take the breech and hammer out and see what’s going on in there.

not really, it’s the breech that is against the frame, it’s touching on the top left side of the breech.
Here’s one of the cuts

Is the cocking knob mushing the frame up slightly where it bashes it when fired? That bit of mashed frame is scoring the breech by the sounds of it….?and catching the breech when fired causing the dud shots..?

tear down the gun, clean, inspect, deburr, lube and enjoy
