Condor .22cal question
Hi,
I’m new here and have been following some of the threads on this forum almost everday, its mind-boggling what folks can do/have done with Airforce rifles 😀 I cant wait to get mine now! My question is that since I’m ordering the .177 Condor with the spare .22 barrel from SS (.177 cal regulations apply when ordering via post/courier here). Are the top-hat valve dimentions for the .177 any different from the .22 valve? since I plan to use the .22 barrel exclusively. Will there be a small drop in velocity of the .22?

Oh yeah forgot about the weight. Isn’t the “pre-load” spring different also?
I would have to guess the same as a SS. Their frame is the same size. From what I know the internals are all the same. The difference is in the valve. Maybe an expert can chime in but if you get the AF end cap wouldn’t a Condor with 12 inch .177 barrel and a Talon tank be the same as a .177 Talon SS?
Except for the extra hammer weight (which is removable of course) I was more wondering if the talon tank is prone to tank dump when using a .177 barrel, compared to the Condor tank.

You should get a .22 condor then up to a .25 barrel. Condor valve is way to powerful for .177.
So a 177 valve has a stronger spring in it than a 22.?
I wouldn’t mind haveing a 177 to play around with , nice accurate and buy twice the pellets for the money.
Savagesam is right , they do this because, so often back pressure is so great you will often get tank dump.
What I remember reading was if you ordered a .177 condor they send you a different valve spring. Same valve, stiffer spring.
Can you please tell us the difference between .177 & .22 spring & retainer?
Really? So what happens when you just buy a Talon tank alone? 😕
Are you sure you don’t mean Condor & Talon? 😉
the spring and retainer in the valves are diffrent between .177 and .22 cal. airforce does not tell you that. but i would just buy the .22 condor, the condor is way over powered for .177. if you want .177 and .22 both in the same gun get a talon

the retainer is longer in the .22. i had a spring for .177 and tried to put it in a .22 valve and the retainer was to long and compressed the spring completly.
