How many refills can I get with a 88cuft 4500psi tank
hello,
I was wondering if anyone new how many refills I could expect from a 88cuft 4500 psi tank. I usually fill to 2900 psi and refill after 10 full power shots.
I also was wondering if anyone has feed the AF tank directly from a larger tank via E-tac or other means, while shooting? I am trying to figure out what I will need besides E-tac and larger tank. thanks for the help

Well if it’s more adjustable I think it will be worth it. That way I can see what will give me the best results.

A reg. that will take 4500 psi. in (which means it will probably be rated to 6K) and give you very fine and accurate adjustability won’t be cheap. An industrial gas supply place would be a good starting point http://www.praxair.com
It depends on how Tony tuned it for you, (bell curve/No bell curve) Light or heavy pellets, Max. FPE or Max. Efficiency.
When I had it tuned Tony said to stay at About 2800psi. That is where I have been getting the most power that I have found. That’s why I asked about the 2000psi. Would it be a bad idea to feed the guns tank with 2800-3000psi air. I’ll take look at that regulator, If I could adjust it low enough use air tools it would be nice. Thanks
I’d only be guessing, as every gun seems to peak at a different psi. but I’d say 2000 would be enough. The only way your going to know FOR SURE, is to shoot your gun (A LOT) over a chrony. Then you would know where to set your reg. at. If you buy one of the really good ones, you would be able to adjust it till the cows come home. But, IIRC, they run around 300-400 bucks.
Would I still get full power by going down to 2000psi. I guess that is what I don’t understand now. Right now I never pump up below 2800psi. Or do I have no understanding how this gun uses the air.

If you put a reg. on your BIG tank and lets say the tanks at max. psi (4500) and you set the reg. to deliver 2000 to your gun you should be just fine. As Jeff said, you should still try to see how little air you can use while giving you the velocity you want.
Well, AFAIK you wouldn’t want to hook your gun directly to your 4500 psi. without a reg. on the tank. In a past post you wrote about hooking up directly to the tank for lots of consistent shots at paper. If it were a 3K tank I’d say go for it, but on a 4500 psi tank you’d need a reg. on the tank or gun or both. For example, on the tank reg. you’d have 4500 in/3000 out. On the gun reg. you’d have 3000 in/2000 out.

I was planning on getting a regulator for the bottle. I wanted to have the out pressure be set for whatever PSI I wanted to shoot at (ie) 2900psi. Than I thought I should get consistent shots till the larger tank gets below that. I was hoping to avoid using a regulator on the gun because I don’t want the extra length. Does this sound like it would work or am I retarded on this idea?

No I do not have a regulator. I would get one when I get the tank. I’m trying to get an idea of everything I should buy.
Assman, do you have a regulator?
Figure it out by psi per shot.. Then you will know how many shots per
tank you get….
