Q:

Laser question

So I have been looking at lasers for a while. Had a red af laser and wanted a green laser.

Not sure why one is better than another other than size so I ordered a barska laser. First it is giant really dont matter to me. Second we installing it with trying to figure out where to put the pressure bad I killed the battery just messing with it.

Figured it was just a cheap battery since it came with it so I replaced it (had a few at the house for my night vision) Was messing with it this morning for a few minutes and it killed the damn battery again.

Is my laser defective or does this giant laser just eat up batteries?

Thinking about sending it back if it chews up batteries in a few minutes of actually on time.

I have owned and used an NCStar model NC-LS-APRLSC green laser sight (Ap. $70.00) and and very happy with it. About 4″ long, extremely bright, acceptable bettery life and no too large – 7/8″ APP.

I got the a single piece mm to weaver adaptor rail and it fits will on the front of my Talon SS just ahead of the scope.

many of the cheap lasers fail, where te positive elctrode of the battery touches the laser switch cap.
weld a peace of gold plated computer conector or a peace of your wife’s most expencive gold jewelry there. and most of the time the problem is solved.
might get a problem turning on your wife, after that, by the way

I think blue does not work well in the dark, green work better in day or night time. If you’re using blue at night, it become very dark.

Well, there you have it!

Blue and violet lasers are still very expensive. Dragon Laser sells them, but not for weapons.

What about blue, do they sell blue for sights yet?

I never seen another other color beside RED and GREEN, I guess blue will be hard to see 😆 😆 😆 .

Why? Blue/Green is the easiest color for the human eye to see. Red is actually much less visible… It all depends on the price of blue lasers I’ll bet…

I think green laser work better in day time, red laser only work good at night time but green laser cost more 😆 😆 😆

I say put four lasers on there then you would have your own feckin’ disco….. 😆

I’ve got one cat that will chase a laser dot and another that freaks out and heads for the hills when it sees one. I wonder if you had four lasers and finger tip pads to control them…if you could mezmerrize the damn rabbits and then just stomp ’em to death? Save some air that way… 😆

fun i got the same on mine

Newbie,

What is cool with the lasers is to get one green and one red, set them both up on the same rifle with the pressure switch on the forearm…
Now site the green at one distance and the red at another, both of these at distances different from where you have your scope zero’d at..

Really adds lots of weight to a rifle and all, but it makes for an interesting combo…

If you use two ,set the red for the closer distance. A green laser is brighter and easier to see, so it should work better at the longer distance.

I had a similar problem, I thought I was buying every damn defective battery in town. I finally figured out what the issue was. I don’t have the Barska model but I’m pretty sure all the green lasers come out of the same factory anyway, so maybe it’ll work for you.

Very gently, see if you can push the cord into the pressure pad switch housing and then see how the laser works. On mine, the switch housing could slide back and forth about a quarter inch on the cord. Any type of pulling (like when the cord was stretched around the gun), and the cord pulled out of the switch casing, dragging the switch internals toward the rear, and causing the malfunction. Apparently the pulling was putting strain on the connections inside the switch or something.

I fixed the problem by putting just a very tiny drop of super glue on the cord where it enters the housing and then pushing it into the housing to where the switch internals need to be. It’s locked in there now and isn’t moving and the laser runs great.
