Q:

Another Edgun Matador convert

Got a chance to shoot my new Edgun Matador a little this morning. Here are the results:

Now, I know that quarter sized groups at 27 yards doesn’t look that great, but this was using an unmagnified holosight, not a scope. And the #1 circle included a couple shots to finish zeroing the holosight. I was shooting better than I could see; I had to pick up binoculars to see what I was hitting.

And the 40 shot string had mean fps of 932.9, standard deviation of 2.31. The highest speed was a single shot at 938, a the lowest was 928 (only 3 of the 40 were below 930).

Pretty nice gun . . . . 🙂

Yes, JSB 18.1 grain will give you a better results.

I’ll try the heavier pellets once I’ve put a decent scope on. With the holosight, I can’t see what I’m shooting well enough to even be sure I’m aiming within a 1″ circle, so I’m sure the variation is at least as much my error as it is the gun/pellets. Beyond thirty yards, I can’t see much under about 2 inches, let alone be confident that my aim is good enough to group well. Even with that, I was able to hit tennis ball sized targets at 50-70 yards without any trouble. I don’t shoot that often, so I was pretty pleased with how easy it was without a scope.

Give the 18’s a try.I cant get the 16’s to group like the 18’s do out past 30yds.
