Trijicon ACOG TA31RCO-M4CP
Not really what an airgunner would use, but I figured a few of you guys might be interested as its still a cool optic.
A member of my family is on leave from Iraq right now. We were shooting the shit about equipment and he’s issued an M68, which is an Aimpoint CompM2 (I say issued but it was picked from a bucket full of beat up Aimpoints that had a few Eotechs dotted around in it).
He has used and like’s the ACOG much better but it seems he wont get issued one for a while, if at all. I talked to a Marine I work with who came back from a tour about what he was issued with and it turns out everyone in his unit was issued an ACOG and he only had good things to say about them so we got him one to take back with him.
Its a 4 power optic with fiber optic illuminated chevron reticle during daytime and tritium illumination takes over at night. Bullet Drop compensator for the M4 rifle and some lines along the left and right for squad use or something.

Sure, Mine is tighter than a nun. I got a docter optics sight laying around that I might put on the ACOG. I bought it for my USP Compact from Optics Planet, but screwed me out an an H&K mount and now I can’t find them.
I might get a QD mount. I assume they run back up iron sites and an ACOG cant be cowitnessed – so a QD would come in handy.
At first Larue just want mounts that were too tight or too loose. Then they started a seperate offer for people to break the lever’s off. I think it’s run its course now (he wanted the stuff to take to the Shot Show).
The A.R.M.S works so far. Its my first throw lever mount so I guess I don’t know any other. Its definitely on there, as hard as those levers are to move. Maybe thats why they want me to break them off. Ill have to call Larue and get some details. So your looking for a mount that can switch quickly between optics?
Nice, How do you like that ARMS mount? and did you see this?
The piece on the stock is cheap and cheesy looking, but it actually makes the cheek weld much better. Trying to find a stock that has a better color match, but may have to have Wilson match one for me.

Got one on my M4, its awesome. Just needs a Docter Optic sight on top. I think the tritium wheres out, because mine is not very bright in the dark.

I’d always thought the hexagons were machined, but it looks like its slits cut into a sheet of material and then pulled so I can understand how it isn’t exactly uniform.
Honeycomb used for laminates is thin strips of metal glued at specific intervals and then expanded into a substrate…

If it was expanded there wouldn’t be round edges on the inner diameter of the holes… Unless of course the black paint filled everything in, can’t tell from the image…

Why on the outside, does it collect ambient light or is it battery operated?

The red cable is a fiber optic light pipe to light the reticle during the day.
