I just mesured my Talon SS it has stock barrel in it 12″ if I measured right an 18 inch barrrel would stick out 1/2 inch from the frame ❓

quote benneeb0y:

18″ barrel in a SS or Condor frame would be flush with the end of the frame

Thanks. Guess that means 10 to 12″ max. if you wanted an internal shroud.

18″ barrel in a SS or Condor frame would be flush with the end of the frame

How long could a person make a barrel and still be able to put an internal shroud inside the frame? So the OAL would be tank to frame end and cap it right there? 10″? 12″?

Thanks!
Just a little more info on the gun.
I am running a Stock Condor valve and tank, I am using a polished steel spacer for a hammer, a heavy spring, both items acquired locally for a low cost. Steel spacers (nor sure of the exact length of each or total O.A.L.)
Still gotta dig through my archery boxes to find my dig. scale to weigh out all the individual pcs.
The barrel started out as a 24″ .25 cal barrel from Tony, I ordered this after putting WTB ads on here and a few other places w/ no luck for a few weeks, broke down and ordered it. The next day I get an e-mail asking if I was still looking for a .25, said yes, long story short, kid needed college money and I “NEEDED” a .25, a week later I had my .25 Condor. Now I have this barrel on the way, I decided to make a shorty like dadwilsons, then I read about Pulaskius’ gun, so I decided to have the barrel cut into 2 the 10″ have the original breech end and no choke, the 13.75″ barrel has the original choke and a breech end that Walt cut for me while cutting and crowning both, (11*) doing a beautiful job. Can’t wait to shoot it more and try to dial it in. I’ll keep you guys posted, and thanks for the comments.

Nice string. I think I would get a 15 incher for my talon ss.

Thanks,
No groups yet, have’nt even scoped it yet. We’ve ben having some really bad Vog lately so I had to use some aquarium lights to get semi-consistent readings. I already have a Condor w/ a 21″ .25 barrel, but was looking for something compact, yet hard hitting. I think it may fit in one of the hard plastic hammer drill cases we have at work so it’ll be pretty discrete. I’m liking it so far, still lots of tinkering to do till I find out what she’ll max out at.

Dang dude, 10″ barrel LOL, that little monster is pumping them out from what I see… When your shooting strings for numbers, don’t ya just hate those friggin’ ERR’s??? Never fails too when I need to see all the numbers, a cloud will come by or something and nuke the chrony for a shot or two…

So hows the groups with this setup, or have you really even tried for that yet??? I am betting I am going to regret getting just one .25 caliber barrel and it being a 24″ or how ever long Walt can get it LOL… I just love the Condor SS I have right now and the 12″ barrel… But I have to ask myself how much would I really need a .25 caliber in a Condor SS…
Besides I will love the freakin long barrel Condor with the .25 spitting out the muzzle also …
