Well said! It’s a inexpensive, beginning step, on the way to understanding there is much better down the road. And for some, its all they can afford. I’d rather have a Gamo than nothing at all. I wasn’t always rich and good looking. I was ugly and poor. I worked hard and got rich. The richer I got, the better looking I got…at least that’s the way it played out. A wise man once told me “As far as women go, there’s no such thing as rich and ugly!”

If you go to the Gamo website, gamousa.com, there is a tab for videos and you can find one or two videos of a guy shooting a pig in the head. Check it out for yourself. I too have had my issues with Gamo and their BS. It was one of the steps that I took on my journey to PCP guns…my quest for power and accuracy.

I owned a Gamo air rifle long ago. This was back in the 70’s. It was a real piece of crap. I kept it about a week, then bought a Weihrauch. Day and night difference.
They may as well have….haha…. Not saying it cant be done… just irresponsible to promote.
Yes, sir…. BIG difference in a Gamo springer and a ‘good’ springer. Some Gamo products are ….ok…. if used within their limitations, but the black eye that Gamo gives airgunning is what keeps me from promoting their products….

In Arkansas, an unethical hunting practice is not stomping something to death after you shoot it, or failure to use fresh batteries when poaching.

Gamo has a long standing reputation of marketing to kids and newbies with their outlandish velocity claims.
In one Gamo commercial, they used a .177 caliber Gamo ‘Extreme’ and PBA (read: worthless) pellets to kill a 200lb hog. The promotion of a .177 caliber springer to be used as a big game hunting airgun is insane.
Most serious airgunners discount Gamo products and their claims.
Dont take my post as I am against hunting. I’ve killed as much game with an airgun as anyone on this board, to include big game with an airgun of the proper caliber.
What’s an “unethical hunting practice”?

and of course you read the comments and see kids and newbies oooohing and aaahhhing over the magical Gamo…. likening it to a .22LR in terms of velocity. Of course, some well meaning folks try to educate them, but it’s futile.
I’ve owned Gamo’s….sure. I’ve done testing on them and so forth. If used within their limitations, they can be entertaining…and yes, they are easily accessible….and I guess they ‘can’ be a sort of gateway airgun to better things, but I’ve heard time and time again folks frustrated with them because they cant hit shit with them and end up giving up on airguns altogether.
