Rapid mods from nutshot

I have been fortunate enough to recieve some excellant pieces from Nick
(nutshot) from the Rapid7 Owners forum and I wanted to share.
My Rapid is an S type, AZ tuned and modified, with a Theoben regulator
added…
Here is the hammer pip Nick made. It is Brass with a delrin insert… There
was some concern that the threads that pertrude inside past the hammer
might get mushroomed by the metal Theoben inertia weight but, after
testing this has not been the case… It is working flawlesly….
This is the Brass hammer pip

This is the internal inertia weight Nick made… It is Stainless steel with
a PTFE (Teflon) insert front and rear….

Here are the tophat and spring guide Nick made. Both are made of
PTFE..

And lastly this is the hammer assembley removed…

Nick also made PTFE discs that fit into the adjustment screw so that there
is absolutely no metal to metal contact anywhere in the assembly…. The
action is virtually silent and all testing has shown that there is actually an
increase in the average FPS of 10 and a very very minimal decrease in
SD. I have only shot 10 shot strings with different configurations so the
SD decrease and the average FPS increase may dissappear with the
increase of shots per string… Only more testing will tell the tale…..
The gun is currently shooting 18.1gr JSB’s @ 887FPS with sub 1″ groups
at 80yds….
Thanks again to Nick for some excellant mod parts that really make the
Rapid a pleasure to shoot…
