Q:

2 Screws on frame

Ok how tight should the 2 screws on the side of the frame be? I marked them in red on this Picture.

They seemed to be loose so I gave them a turn and now I need to re-zero it. Guess I should have left the dang things alone. 🙄

No loctite for me, just a good common sense snug on all 4 of them-aluminium is relatively soft stuff. The couple of thousanths that the frame is oversized to the bushings is enough to cause a poi shift. I always tend to snug up the set screws that go in from the bottom first and last —snug the bottom ones light snug the side ones the add alittle more snug to the bottom ones… hope that makes sense no 1/2″ impacts needed…lol

Dunno Pab my Condor has been fine for about 2000 rounds now. I took her apart an all but the only lock tight I’ve used was on the power wheel. And I just did a 200 yard dash with the Condor in hand to tree a coon. I did loose some pellets from the little foam pellet holder from PA though 🙁

Thanks, I’m just wishing I’d found this place before I got my Condor, NOT that I don’t love it, Just would have been nice to know I could have got it in .25 and not so dang loud.

LOL. You wouldn’t of saved a dime and even if you did, you’d soon find something to spend it on. Welcome to the dark side.

Those set screws should be snug and use blue locktite on them to make them stay put.

What the fuck do you guys do with your rifles over there that would require locktite on those set screws?? 😆 How the hell can they drift out??

Each time you take them out and put them in chances are the POI will change because they contact the barrel directly.

First time I’ve been called that. Ever. 😆

I love being the new guy….

Well at least the barrel stays in and I’m back to zero. Also it kinda helped to balance my scope out.
When I 1st zeroed the rifle seemed like I had a lot of right on the scope. Now it’s closer to “scope zero” !

They’re just KIDDING you because you’re new here. The correct procedure is to tighten it till it strips, then back off a half turn.

That’s right, and then to sight her in use to old trick of placing the target at 10 feet. If you hit paper with any part of the barrel she’s done. If you miss the paper call “walt_in_hawaii” the more you swear the lower the price of a new barrel will be.
