Q:

Just mailed off my Edgun deposit.

Well, I did it. Just sealed the envelope containing a 10% deposit for an Edgun out of the next shipment. The next shipment is due around March 1st.

Waiting is always fun. Took about 8 weeks for Tony to get my tuned Talon to me, so I guess I can wait 6 weeks or so for the Edgun. I probably shouldn’t gripe, 6 weeks is nothing compared the 30 months it took between preorder/deposit and delivery of my LRB M25 receiver… 😀

Can’t wait to use it as the designer intended…taking pigeons at a friend’s storage yard from a vehicle. 😛

Congratulations Kiba….enjoy the wait. I personally find waiting sucks! I too am waiting for an EDgun. I placed my order early December and was told probably mid January. That was faster than most had gotten theirs so I was pleased. However, that was changed to mid February which was more in line with others. Now it sounds as if maybe the first of March.

I’m a very impatient person so waiting is not my thing. Although my son tells me I should have plenty of patience because I never use any! 😆
Anyway, if it’s as advertised by the owners posting here, it’ll be worth the wait. And the ones posting pretty well know their shit so I feel good about my investment. Soon, but not soon enough, I will see!

Good luck with yours Kiba and let us know how things go.

BTW, what scope are you planning on putting on?

Later!

LOL, I hear you on the wait and “pushed back” delivery dates. When I first preordered my LRB M25 a few years back I was told 8-10 months or so. It turned into 30 months as I mentioned. After about 16 months I just stopped caring, calling, and emailing. It was a total shock (the good kind) when I got the call it was shipping.

As far as scopes: right now I have a $200 Vortex Crossfire 4-16 Mildot on my Tony tuned Talon. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on the scope right away because I didn’t know if I’d like the PCP thing but I knew I still wanted a mildot reticle for holdovers and magnification up to around 12X to 16X. My “scope dealer buddy” sent me the Vortex to test on the terms I could send it back if I didn’t like it. It holds a solid zero, the mildot was accurate when I checked it, and the glass is surprisingly clear for the price– so I kept it.

While the glass certainly isn’t in the same league as my cheapest powder burner scope (which is a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24 side focus) and the knobs are nowhere near as good as my long range powder burner scopes where I use the knobs to dial in come-ups for the long range shots (had some Leupold Mark 4s, now replaced with IOR 35mm & Nightforce NXS) I find the Vortex to be more than adequate for use on the Talon. I haven’t “box pattern” tested the turrets on the Vortex for repeatability and accuracy but strictly based on “feel” I have my doubts about them under repeated use so I just use mil holdovers– easy enough.

Chances are down the road I’ll sell the Vortex Crossfire and get a higher end scope with good turrets for the EDgun. What, I’m not sure. I have a spare used adjustable objective Elite 4200 6-24 x 40mm mildot “in stock” that I may put on the EDgun but the mildot version of that scope only will adjust for parallax down to 25 yards (the duplex reticle versions will adjust down to 10 yards.) Not to mention an Elite 4200 6-24 adjustable objective version is almost as long as the EDgun. 😛

I’m probably going to go with an Elite 6500 2.5-16 Mildot as it will adjust for parallax as close as 10 yards which is good for the “indoor matches” at a friends house.
