Elcan Digital Hunter Ballistics

I know I’m likely the only person here who has one.. but for reference incase anyone else gets one –

The software that comes with these is based around firearms and as such it leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to programming the ballistic table for the scope – such as the 10 yard increments and only allowing weight to the nearest whole grain.

I just ignored it and was using hold over’s but I was taking a look at the file it downloads to the scope when attached directly and found that it produces a simple txt file that looks like this –

Seems that the software does everything and the file it loads into the scope is just the offset at whatever range…. therefore I can get data from either chairgun or real world testing and enter my own offsets and it will be dead on. (The first number is just the zero range, I changed it to 50 and just made my 50 yard offset 0 and all my other offsets were measured from that).

So for this target I held dead on the center with the crosshairs, then just measure how far down pellet hit and entered that number next to the range in the file above… and again for all the different range’s.

To get that on the scope just save the txt file as “Table1.txt” on the computer instead of attaching scope, save it to the root of an SD card and insert it into the scope – when you turn it on it will automatically update the ballastics table with the data you entered.

I forgot to mention that the chart is in MOA – so you’ll need to convert.

That is quite a scope if it does all that YN…
