Q:

got my tank filled at thr fire dept today and

they filled it up no problem at all refused to take money
so next time im gonna bring em some donuts
anyways the tanks is a 88 cf 4500 tank when they gave it to me it was 4500 psi and pretty warm i left it is cold out like 20’s so after the tank was in the car for a few hrs i brought it in and was down to 41-4200 psi
it this a normal drop for when it is filled?
i know if i sent it to the welding shop they send it to their other place a few hrs away and will do a cold 4500 fill but its 17 bucks
this was free so im not gonna complain

I do the same here in my area. I drop in and see them with a dozed fresh/ Just make sure 1/2 of them are cream filled – no sprinkles 😉

later

I stopped by my local fire station yesterday and talked with the chief and a couple of his staff. They got all new stuff 4 years ago via a gov’t grant. They can’t sell any old stuff but have to put it up for auction. They said they may have several steel tanks left and the chief volunteered to check with the trustees and give me a call if they want to have an auction. He said the auction usually doesn’t get much for equipment so they might bunch the remaining steel tanks together as one item.

The chief also said theY don’t fill scuba tanks as there is a dive shop the other side of town that does. He did seem interested in the idea of a high power air rifle and wondered where I shoot. I just might stop by to show him my condor in a couple weeks. No since in rushing a good thing. Gee, I might take along a couple applications for the range. They have a special rate that for law enforcement and I’m sure it could be extended to Fire Fighters.

Darn, I don’t get up early enough to get fresh doughnuts. I’ll have to rely on interest in High Power NON Powder BURNING Rifles. GOING GREEN CAN BE A GOOD THING!

Shit free is free! I pay 5 bucks for a “warm fill”.

well a buddy i worked with for 7 year also is the assistant fire chief also
but still he wasnt on duty today
and yeah ill be droppin by with donuts here n there for the guys

🙁
cant shoot yet as im waiting on my joe brancator stuff yet
the tank is just sittin there smiling at me 👿

A six pack of Shiner will usually yeild better results, at least in Texas anyways… I happen to know for a fact 😉

If a guy would drop by his local FD once a week for a month and drop off
donuts, I think it would be hard for them to say no when you show up
with an air bottle after that…

Well ill be damed so the fire dept will fill for free lol

sounds like i need to buddy up with the guys at the local FD

Yep, Crow, normal. But FREE!!! 😀 😉

(17.00 for a fill is a huge ripp off. Highest I have ever heard of by tripple!)

Mike

Crow put them two little guys to bed and do some shooting you been cleaning pimpen and adjustin shoot something quick!! LOL!!

thats why im not complaining
if i fill to 2800 psi and refil at 2000 i still get 30 fills
so im satisfied

You got a hot fill and it will cool down.

Free and 4200 psi is great.

WoW! lucky you! 99 percent of the places i have call wont fill to 4500 😡
