KISS way to level your scope!
Forget plumb lines, walls, bubble levels, scope ring tops and other expensive devices.
What you do is go to an Auto Parts store and buy one or two sets of Feeler Gauges with individual removable gauges.
The top of the Condor / Talon rail is flat and square to the bore, the bottom of the scope saddle is also flat, and square to the reticle, put the gauges under the scope and then slide them out and continue to tighten the scope rings. You can (stack) add and remove different gauges to adjust the exact height required.
The stacked gauges are square and parallel. The scope and rail will be parallel. The reticle will be level to the rail.

I suppose most scopes are very good and the internals line up square with the saddle base. But, if they don’t, you might want to try this:
Get your base and mount lowers screwed on tight after making sure there are no gross mis-alignments. Then walk out to your target board with a paper and a level. Tack up the paper and use the level to draw a horizontal line. Now go back to the bench, use the level to make sure the gun is vertical and tighten the ring caps once you have the gun vertical and the crossbar on the reticle aligned with the line you drew on the target.
bend a knitting pin in a 90degree angle put it in your barrel and align your cross 😆
Sad but true, this method is a time saver, provided the reticle is square to the saddle. If the manufacturer recommends the method and the reticle is not square, I would return for warranty repair.

I wish that this was always true. It would make life much simpler. Problem is, a LOT of scopes ret’s aren’t true. Many of them are misaligned from the factory’s. Even high dollar ones.
If you have a scope that the ret. is exactly square with the terrets, you are lucky. Most good scopes are. But sadly not all. Many lower cost scopes are way off. 👿
