Hi,
I’m in the UK, and have recently purchased a Gunpower Stealth F.A.C.
My problem is this; even with high mounts on the rifle, the sight through the scope is very low, meaning that the head/scope alignment feels very awkward.
Any reason why no one else seems to have this problem?
I also have a Marlin 871, a Winchester 30 06, Theoben Rapid 7, and several shotguns – so not new to shooting.
Your thoughts are welcomed.

I use a 6-24X50 scope on medium mounts with the standard scope rail and find that it is perfect for me to get a consistant cheek weld. If you are trying to look through the scope with the side of your chin on the bottle, try and use your cheek (On your face :P) just below your cheek bone, This is how I do it and seems to work for me.

I have a tri rail but then I kicked myself and figured I shoulda just bought extra high rings and no possibility of alignment problem by adding the tri rail.
BUT….
the answer is obvious. The height of the scope mount is a huge problem for me, because I like to shoot close at larger game, usually inside 20 yards or so. Parallax error is huge and I hate it. Etac is not the answer, it only moves your head relative to the gun. Parallax error is still there. So… stay tuned. I’m going to cut apart my gun soon and try to mount a scope lower. Will let you guys know how it went.

Oh yea…. Add an AirForce Trirail…. I had 2 of them stacked on top of
each other on one of my Condors….That should get you the height you
are looking for…

Most use a tri-rail up top as well.
I dont like them as it seems to put my scope off line a tad…

Not sure I totally agree with you there, Walt.
The OP appears to have trouble getting his eye in front of the scope for proper alignment even using very high mounts. This causes the scope to be much higher from the bore, and the result is an increased amount of scope travel required (or more exact ranging) to get the pellet to cross the line of site.
The E-TaC does allow you to lower the scope onto 1/2″ high rings and give you a comfortable, more consistant cheekweld/site picture as well as lowers the scope toward the bore line for more parallel-ity between the line of sight and pellet flight. Both of which is what I read the OP wanted.
Perhaps I missed something, but to me (anyway) the E-TaC is the answer.
