Who said to use Red locktight!!!!!!
I used Blue locktight for the top hat and now I can’t get the damn thing off!!! I now heat it up but still the whole valve spins with the top hat! Any suggestions on how to take off the top hat.

If it is, than you won’t be able to do it as with regular Talon valve.
You would have to take the valve off and take out the stem because the top hat on hi-flo valve screws on from the bottom of the stem not from the top. I found it out be destroying couple stems.

You didn’t forget that there are two screws in the tophat, did you? Did you loosen them both? Obvious question on my part, but only because it happened to me once after a few two many beverages. 😉 :

you can pop the stem out with air in the tank. use two flat screw drivers
pressure is your friend for this job.
put new stem in and dry fire it home.

I got it set @ .65 and if it shoots like its supposed I will leave it. I will keep updating after I shoot through the chrony tonight!
Dont walk too far, all mine get faster as the pressure decreases so what started as a little hiss ends up being a huge blast.
I have removed stems without emptying the tank 😳 … but I do not recommend that.
They are right…empty it first. Do you know how? Place a dime in your refil adapter then screw in the bottle slowly until you hear air hissing out of it. Walk away…don’t try to empty it too fast. Let the High Pressure Air escape very slowly. It shouldn’t take too long. Then proceed with unscrewing the collar. You should get advice on what works best for removing that valve stem/collar assembly. Some have posted that it is very difficult to remove and they have damaged the burst disk. If you damage the burst disk, you must return it to Air Force to have a new one installed.
Go easy and slow…don’t apply too much heat to a charged bottle.

You got it Ninja but I was hoping for another way as I never took it off yet. Since I am going to take it off I might as well port and polish too. I can’t imagine using Redloctite. I have used heat but do not want to heat too too much the valve seal might melt. Mam I’ll be in bed by 10 I promise.
If I was mine… I’d pull the entire stem/top hat out of the valve which would let me turn the tophat while gripping the stem.
We have been telling you for weeks that you need to ask and do what
you are told instead of arguing with us about what works best…MAYBE
NOW! you have learned…. I can promise you that someone here has
done what you are wanting to do and has thought of most anything you
think might be a great idea or modification….. Once in a blue moon
someone comes up with something new that has never been tried but, it
is not often…. Ask before you hurt yourself…. These things are small
bombs and can easily distroy your house or hurt you and/or someone in
your home……
Now… Try using light heat to melt the Loctite… Maybe a hair dryer or
heat gun BUT, do not over heat anything as heat will increase the
pressure in the tank and could cause a problem…. I would suggest that
YOU empty the tank before you kill yourself….

i would assume the blue locktite was for the set screws and NOT the tophat threads. Thats how i would use it anyway.
