ss hammer replacement???
once i get the breech out, can i hold the hammer back and release the trigger and just pull the hammer?? i want to replace mine with a tt brass unit. thanx for any help.

As a newbie, let me ask..why are you changing hammer? I assume you’re going to install a heavier version?
ive always pulled my breach and hammer out the back end that way i dont lose my P.O.A….just remove the bottle collar and the knob from the bolt and the fall out no spring or washers or plastic bolts to screw up and or lose
The rifle can’t cock with the main spring removed. Once the barrel, spring, PW, and hammer are removed you push the bolt forward,(with the cocking knob removed) disengage the safety, and pull the trigger.
This might help if not do a search on Quick Ref there are drawings of the gun dissasembled with all parts layed out also a video in there someplace
let me get this straight …do you remove the bolt/breach seal with the gun cocked???

“once you get the breech out”, the hammer will already be out 😉
along with: the little PLASTIC (very easy to damage) screw in the power wheel, the fore-stock, the 4 set screws holding the barrel, the barrel, a washer (ring) the power wheel, another washer (ring), the spring, the hammer, and the cocking “bolt” (screw in the breech).
(more or less, EXACTLY in that order)

thanx for the info….and yes im thinking of going wiyh a brass hammer from tt.
