Q:

Anyone tried a LIGHTER hammer on their talon?

Dunno if this happens to someone else or just me, but no matter what i do, i just cant get my rifle to take the power curve from the start.
Even filled to 3000psi, and with the PW as low as it will go, the velocity starts at the top and slowly decreases thru the string.
I would like my rig to have a nice bell shaped power curve, and im thinking about making an alluminum hammer. Exactly like the steel (?) factory one, just made of alluminum instead of steel, so it weights less.

Anyone tried this? what you think? ❓

(First testing looks VERY promising) 🙂

got a 28 gram delrin hammer works great for me

For sure a lighter hammer will work. A light hammer moving fast is what you want for more string control…

I had a Talon tank once and no matter what I did it never had any bell curve. But I never tried the lighter hammer.
Well, I asked some guys around and their answer was that they had the same situation with their’s.
So I kind of accepted it that that is the reality if this valve. maybe with lighter hammer and 3K fill it will work. Let us know.

Some older Talons have all delrin hammers (I have one laying around somewhere) and they work just fine.

Interesting thought… I think hammers are pretty cheap, you could drill a few lightening holes in a stock one to see if it works…
