All 3 of my other airguns are Crosmans…here’s the MA2250B
Just finished the build day before yesterday…shoots better than I expected…18.21 H&N crow magnums, 1600 psi does average of 877 fps and fpe of 31.1…I be likin’ it…weighs little less than 5.5lbs.

WHOA!! THAT sounds like a helluva project 😀 I think you’re right ,,,if you use bottle as the stock, then the 53 cu.in. bottle that a lot of guys here are using, would probably look pretty “snappy”. And give you a GREAT amount of volume for some looooong strings 😀 😀
I am a Crosman maniac, I love the 22xx series, but I’m gonna cool it for a while..not build anything else for a while..I wanna get my TSS dialed in, had it like 3 wks, but been too busy with the 2250..I’ve finished with pellet testing (and accuracy) and really, am done with it…..amazing what the little carbine can made to produce, simply amazing!
I agree with you. the bigger tank would not have looked right on your rig. It will be okay on my 2550 because the barrel is thicker (LW .25) and longer 24″ plus brake. I would like to have gotten the larger bottle 53 or 62 cu in. but I think the over 3″ diameter would have looked retarded. I plan on making one with a larger bottle and hard line in the rear position. I would like to make that one in 9 mm or .308.
I think after I finish these two crosmans my next project is going to be an HPA shotgun. I will start up a new Topic in hope of getting all the best advice I can. I would need someone to design me a “Hurricane” of a valve to push all that good stuff down the barrel. I think a 4500 psi CF mini tank with a very high regulated output will be needed….I want it to look like a pump…in fact, it would be ideal if the breech could be opened by pumping the foregrip back or foreward….Man, I’m getting excited even thinking about the possibilities in design.
Block came from Archer..and yes the fore arm is for a 2289,,bought it from Crosman….I wouldn’t mind having more air, but anything larger than the 13cu in bottle just plain looks retarded to me..just my opinion.my 2250 has 18″ barrel, and with the 6 1/2 inch TKO muzzle brake, the small bottle looks just right, again, in my opinion. Plus, less weight on front of gun with smaller bottle. Which is why I bought a TalonSS. less weight in front end. 😀

As for the TP, no I haven’t felt any blowby on mine….Roy done good!!! Only blow by I’ve had at all was from a damaged bolt o-ring.
Where did you get the block from? I ordered one from Archer airguns. I also got a good deal on a used 18 cu in. bottle with a 2000 psi reg output (will be using on my 2550) I shot some really nice groups today with it @ 20 yards. All 1/4 to 1/2″. I filled to 1200, fired two “valve lock” shots, then shot two 5 shot groups per fill.
My rolled stamping on both of my tubes is behind the seal point so I am not worried. I will be “pinning” the valve on the 2550 when I go to HPA.
I am looking for an 18″ barrel to make a pistol out of. I have a 24″ barrel I will trade. .22 cal
I cut up a stock airforce condor grip to use on my 2250. I am liking it so far. I think it looks much better than the stock grip. More “meaty” It also has sling swivel stud bolted into it so I can mount a small utg bipod.
These things are tons of fun. I have spent dozens of hours reading all of the articles on them…thanks for the links. Where did you get your foregrip from? is that a 2289?
Hi there……you can’t tell by that picture, but my tank block( bottle block) IS the one that drops down,,,like I siad, ya just can’t see it in that picture..I wiuldn’t want one if it didn’t drop down..all you use for air with it being straight would probably be an “AVANTI” cylinder, which has no where near enough air volume 😥 😥

I meant was the TP setup you were using holding up to the 1600 psi passing through it? I also have a MA valve and I will measure it soon to see if it is similar to your dimensions. With the “ice maker/aquarium tubing” that is in the .25 now I get a serious BLAST out the muzzle. Before I mess with it I am going to fill to 950 psi and shoot a string with it to see what it does. I ran it down by dry firing it and I got 8 good blasts with a 950 psi fill. Shot 9 and 10 emptied the tube to O psi…keep in mind this is with my chewed up O ring on the valve so it is not sealing properly in its current status. I bought some O rings today, but have not had a chance to mess with them. I don’t think they will be the right size. I will most likely have to call Roy at MA and ask if he could sell me some since I believe MA is where the valve work was done.
That bottle block you bought from Archer is no longer in stock. They do have another one that drops the bottle down. This would be ideal anyway as I might out a full shroud on one day with a higher breech….Thanks for your input. Later.
What exactly do you mean by “such a TP seup”??? Top of valve and bottom of barrel are .250″ holes, I believe the wall thickness of the tubing is .035″ (IIRC) that leaves the hole .180″ which actually is a little past optimum size…… .0166″ on valve exhaust hole and .0169″ on barrel hole is I believe, the best, on MOST 22xx for performance…Mine was already drilled to it’s current configuration when I bought it….from Mountain Air…..I THINK, it’s what a lot of guys are calling the CLPS, but I can’t swear to that. As long as tubing is cut to correct length, and both ends are cut PERFECTLY square, it won’t leak..there’s a minute amount of tubing that isn’t re-enfored by either the valve. or the barrel, once parts are cleaned and fitted and the breech screw is tightened down. SO far mine has not leaked at all, at least not perceptible to me..lots of different things/ways to go about the TP..a friend of mine actually drills out the stock metal sleeve and uses it with the stock o-ring…If ya look around enough at site about the 22xxseries, you’ll finds all sorts of ways to do go about doing the same thing….lots work, some…..need more development time 🙄 🙄 🙄 the way mine is setup seems to be working fine, so I won’t try to fix it.

Packrat, are you experiencing any “blow bye” with that 1600 psi hitting that transfer port? That seems like alot of air to be channeling through such a TP setup 😯
Thanks for the compliment..shot count ,like with all airguns, depenfds on pellet weight and power adjuster setting….I can go from 24 shots of 31.1 FPE (18.21gr pellets) to about 70 shots at 24 FPE (12.65gr pellets….don’t compare it to air force gun though…they have 30 cu.in. bottle…this Crosman bottle is only 13 cu.in. but you CAN fit a larger one on if ya want…I like the looks of the small one.
As far as cost, well,you can get the basic gun from Crosman in their “custom build” section for $110.00 then you need a custom performance air valve (B&A makes a goooood one), then you need a bottle, an airblock, an extended valve front-end, various attaching hardware etc,etc, I’d say you could do the whole thing ready to fire for $295.00,,that’s not cutting any corners and everything brand new..find some of the parts used , you might get ‘er done considerably cheaper…depending on how cheap you could buy used parts…..and NOOOO, it’s running on HIGH PRESSURE AIR….3000 psi bottle , regulated to 1600 psi .
how much does one setup like urs cost i really really want one does it run on co2 and howmany shots i want a good powerful 22xx pistol/carbine bad

Yeah, I know what you mean. I am bit by the “collector bug”. I have been selling anything that isn’t bolted down to fund my next airgun project. Now that I started messing with the 22xx platform, I don’t know how many I will end up with. I’d like to keep building them in different configs, and perhaps selling some, keeping some, etc.
The shotgun project would be geared towards the largest volume air possible for each shot. I mean, if there was someone who could make a valve so powerful that I could dump the entire bottle into the barrel that would be cool 😯 Perhaps even a double barrel side by side with a t-valve….I can come up with the idea, but I am no machinist, I would need help from the “powers that be” A break barrel would be nice.
