Got a question about efficiency

I was shooting my Talon SS with a 24 inch barrel today and noticed I was using 22 psi per shot. I have the PW on 2, a fill pressure of 2,350psi, and I am getting 37 ft lbs with Kodiaks. I can get 37 ft lbs with my 18 inch barrel but I have to go with the PW turned all the way up and a 3,000psi fill. My 18 inch barrel also uses 22 psi per shot. My question is why does the 24 inch barrel use the same amount of air and not get more power? Is it because of the lower fill pressure?

Sorry my post was confusing and I guess I answered my own question to.

Yes I tried the 24 inch barrel at the higher settings and got a 10 ft lb increase with the Kodiaks but it used over 40psi per shot and I only got 10-15 usable shots.

By the way you laid it out above the 24″ barrel is producing the same power at a lower fill for the same psi. Thus it is more efficient than the 18″ barrel that needs a full fill and the pw turned up all the way…

Perhaps something is backwards in the post or question?

Or…

Try the 24″ at the same fill and pw setting as the 18″ so all things are equal… 😉

I think you will see a marked fpe improvement with the 24″ barrel with the pw up all the way and the tank at 3000psi…
