It keeps calling me. Maybe it will be the gun I’ve been looking for all this time.

Stop thinking about it and order one!! I own an Airwolf shrouded by PAG, an AZ Rapid fully tunned, Have owned 3 FXs, a couple of air arms, and let me tell you… Edguns rock!!
I’m not telling that it’s better than an airwolf or a rapid, the Matador is a class in it’s own, very different and special, you’ll not be dissapointed… And if you order it and don’t like it… Just tell me, I’ll buy it from you in a blink!! 😉

I have a Beeman R1, a Condor, an Edgun and a FX Royale 400.
I got my Edgun last July and love it. I have been waiting for the long version with the new LW barrel. When I found out that the long version won’t be available till May, I ordered a Smooth Twist barrel FX Royale 400. I have had the FX for 2 weeks.
The FX is a really good looking gun. It is a little quieter than the Edgun. It has a 12 shot magazine. The build quality is close to the Edgun. I think that it shoots as well as the Edgun. It is also 14″ longer than the Edgun. I am going to make a bull pup out of the Fx. I have all of the stuff needed for the conversion except for the scope mounts. I get them next Monday.
The Edgun is shorter, lighter and better balanced. It uses less air per shot. My ear is over the action and when I shoot, the Edgun seems a lot louder. When held at arms length, the FX is still quieter but, not by much. The Edgun is very handy for sticking out of my truck’s window, if a target of opportunity comes up while driving out in the country. Not that I would ever do that. 😯
I took both guns to an indoor 50 yard range. I shot each one for about an hour. I have 3 magazines for the FX and they were loaded when I got there. I probably got more shots out of the Edgun, I didn’t have to stop and reload the mags.
There is just something about the Edgun that makes me smile when I shoot it. The FX doesn’t have that. I shoot the Edgun every day, the FX doesn’t get shot as often, it is harder to stick out of the kitchen window.
I don’t know how many shots my Edgun has, maybe around 10,000. I order 4, 500 pellet tins of JSB 18.1’s at a time and just got my 6th order in, I think.
I also have had a problem with the Edgun. When I took the stock off to make a pattern for the FX, I noticed that a screw had backed out of the action. It took about 3/4 turn to get it tightened up. I checked the rest of the gun and they were all tight.

I own 2 nice ones. The EDgun and an HW100. They are completely different animals so it’s difficult to compare them to one another without simply listing differences. I also own a wall full of lesser guns, but still highly enjoyable. 2 AF and a bunch of Crosmans in different varieties. Most of those, including the AF rifles, are CO2, all but 2 of the rest are pumpers…. so again no good way to compare. What I can say is that picking up the EDgun or HW provides immediate feedback that it’s built to a higher standard. There is certainly a price to pay for the higher standard but if someone is able to make that jump and appreciates precision than a higher end airgun (EDgun included) is a treat to own and shoot.
I purposely left my prior springer guns out of this because I had a VERY nice HW97 that was every bit as impressive as the EDgun or HW100, just a totally different animal again. I no longer own it because it didn’t get shot very often (compared to the rest).

Bean’s comments are the only thing that I have heard that has been anything like an issue. It looks like the spring was added to stop this problem… Looking forward to the photos Bean…
If I didn’t have to pony up some $$ for taxes i’d be seriously considering an EdGun… I’d sell the TSS and all the extras I have and probably swing it but I like having 7 rifles in one. When they come out with a repeater and import into the US i’m not sure I will be able to resist…
It’s a pretty tough crowd here and some of the folks that have them have some of the nicer airguns out there to compare them to and they hold their own from what I have read…
How about this, my birthday is coming up, send it to me and if it’s cool, i’ll keep it and you’ll know you’ll like the next one for sure… I’ll pm you my address right away… 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
If you can do it I doubt you’d be disappointed…
Oh and if you do you have to do a review with photos (which is one reason not to get one, best I could come up with too :lol:).

Couple drops of thread lock should do the trick, right?
The thread tape has held for a couple thousand rounds so a good dose of
thread locker should work too. I just want to compare the spring and
washer and thread length tp see if it looks any different, especially since
the first time I saw mine it was all falling out as i pulled the stock off

Get a measurement and send an email to Tony to let him know you are
having issues… Let him know how long it is so that he will know if it is too
short.
