Sunday will be my 1st time out trying the 800cc tank and .25
Well looks like I am going to do a early look over of my favorite gopher fields Sunday and have my .25 package tested over a chrony and ready to go. Turned down my valves on both the new 800cc main tank (thanks Walter) and as well matched my backup 430cc tank to just shoot JSB .25s at 970 fps with a 2500 psi fill to conserve my scuba tank volume. This velocity pellet conbination will only drop 7 inches and still deliver 30 ft lbs at 100 yards with a 25 yard zero. Also have my regulated 2000 psi HPA tank setup to try out but it only shoots the .25 at around 790 fps a little slow for longrange work.
Main tank is doing over 50 shots and the backup around 30. Also rigged up my laser rangefinder to just screw onto the 20mm scope rings as I found I mostly use my rangefinder for when I am shooting at one vantage point out to 120 yards and not while walking.
Oh well the trigger finger is itching to send some .25s downrange.

Is a nice looking setup dude… It also sounds like you have her all dialed in well… I was admiring the PIC above and noticed how far back you have your scope set at… That is at least 2 inches farther back than mine from the looks of it… Quite different… You have any issues with eye placement to clear the scope???
Your 800cc tank looks alot like mine also, if not the very same. I see how close the necked area is to the frame of the Condor. I ended up using one of Jim’s Etac’s on mine to move my tank back farther and to add the quick fill and guage…
I must say I love the setup I have now, it does make taking the tank off a little more of an issue though… I have mine setup where out in the field and need more air to just use the quick fill instead of changing the tank…
You might like to check into this as well for your setup dude??? You have sure got quite the nice setup already…
I have not ever shot in a gopher field, but figure its alot like the prairie dog fields I do shoot in… I can go out and get all setup and stay in one place all day… Make long shots and need all the air I can get. So to go out and get setup for me and then just use the quick fill and hook up the rifle to an extra tank and shoot from both of them at the same time really makes things work out really nice…
I do not have mine setup to walk and carry all straped together just yet. I want to get a fiber type of smaller tank to do that, so as to help with the weight… Anyway, just thought I would share the thoughts with you on how I have my work in progress going, as I see with yours; lots of the same setup… Good luck on the hunt today…

Well today was not the best. 🙁
Overcast until noon, windy as hell, and the road into the property had what was left over of a big snowdrift and lots of mud. The farmer said to be careful not getting stuck guess I was the 1st one in this year, thankfully the Jeeps quadra trac and tires didn’tet let me down.
Due to the wind I did not do much pesting I was using 4 Mildots just to get on target for the wind, but the .25 JSBs worked quite well in the wind.
After about 400 shots of .25 I definately can say the advantages of increased airtank volume (800cc) are worth it. This setup worked so well I never once used my backup tank, it just shot and shot.

I was hoping that by lowering the .25 JSBs to 970 fps the overpenatration problem would be addressed but the .25 still passed thru on body hits even at 100 yards so I think I am going to try the 2000 pis regulated system at around 750 fps.
