Scope selection
Any thoughts on a scope for a TT 25AAA Condor?
I was thinking of a Hawke Sidewinder 6X24.
Gun is still with Tony. I’m just thinking ahead.
Thanks
Bob

With my rings switched around I was able to get the groups up but have about only 30 clicks left, less than 8MOA out of 58. I don’t like being at that edge of adjustment so am going to give a new mounting system a try.
I have it on my FX revo at the moment (too much scope for that), but, like you, waiting on Tony for my condor 25 build as well.
it is a nice scope 😉
X5 Here too… This is what I am wanting to do next…

When bore sighting my Legend 5-15×40 a couple weeks ago it put me about dead on at 40. With the scope being optically centered. I have the AF high mounts and no rail.
You shouldn’t need the +/- 20 moa shims for 40 yards?
Sam 🙂
You got me thinking so I reversed the rings. I’ll see tomorrow if that helps.I thought maybe the high scope position compared to the bore caused issue. I saw in the video that came with the rifle the guy used an adjustable base so thought perhaps that was my issue.
Ive heard other recommend an adjustable or droop compensating mount. I dont have any issues with mine, but its zero’d in on 10 yards, which is my max range at the moment. I’m going camping in a few weeks when it warms up a little and ill try some long range shooting. I have the leapers high mounts, no rail.

FVA: Those are some nice scopes. A good set of rings should fix your issues.

I am using high rings. the scopes are Leupold VX II 3-9×33 EFR that has 58 MOA on tap and I tries my Ziess 4.5-14×50 trying to zero at 40 yards.

FVA: I am curious what distance to zero, and how many clicks of elevation did it take to max out.
I have always zeroed @ 40 to 50 yards with different scopes and a slew of different rings in 1″ or 30mm, medium to high, with no problems.
BTW I don’t use a riser or Tri-rail.
Sam 🙂
From my .limited experience you are going to want an adjustable mount. I’ve tried two scopes. Both topped out their adjustments and needed to be shimmed which adds stress. I ordered a pair of Burris Signature 22 rings with +/- 20 MOA inserts.
Thanks for the input
BTW It will be used in the 75 to 125 yd range, for the most part.
Might try to stretch it out further if the occasion presents itself.
I like centerpoint scopes. They dont cost a lot, have clear optics and life time warranty. I have a 3x9x50 on my Talon SS. and just ordered a 3x9x40 for my ruger 10/22

The Burris 22/air rifle Signature rings showed up today and made a big difference. They fit the rail very well and come with a roll pin to be used as a recoil stop where applicable.
The inserts hold the scope real well without marking it up. Wish I went this route from the get go.
Anyways, using the 20 MOA inserts I ordered switching to the Signature rings raised the POI about 14″ at 40 yards enabling me to adjust the scope from almost being bottomed out back towards the center of it’s adjustment range.
Works for me,FWIW.
