camcorder as a primary scope???
did anybody ever think of/try to put a digital camcorder as your primary scope? (not behind the ordinary scope as usual). just draw a reticle in the screen and tada………! 🙂
well, mechanically it can be done ..
advantages:
1. optical zoom from 1x up to 40x.
2. night vision, definitely.
3. and of course we can record it. hehe
disadvantages:
1. battery dependent.
2. not weather proof.
3. it will change the way we shoot. LOL.

Use a laser as your sight/aiming reference, I did that with a cheap Russian night vision scope years ago.
Then you do not need to sight in the camera, just view thru it and shoot.
It should work with a green laser and on a PCP but I would think most powder burners will shake it apart.

that is the question, I just figure out a question for myself: with the advantages of new cam today like anti-bounce etc Im affraid it will make it impossible to adjust/zeroed.

uh btw, disadvantage no 4: all the awkwardness operating it as a scope. 🙂
Like said before, get some nice windage and elevation adjustable mounts. Find some way to very securely attach the camcorder to the mount. Put a dot/crosshair/etc. on the screen. And then it may work. Definitely would NOT recommend trying it on a springer, pcp only.
Another possible method is to get a good laser attached to the gun, sight in the laser, and then just have where the laser is somewhere close to the center of the screen. That would probably be better at holding a zero and such.
Only problem I see is if you are rough with your guns at all a camera probably won’t survive long. But if you are gentle, who knows.
