ATN PS22
Last Friday there was a NV meet in the Netherlands. This unit has a lot of controversy going on about it. So we did some testing!
Well after this rant I’ll try and make a more productive addition to this thread as I was in the position to actaully TEST the scope!
Yesterday night we had a NV meet in the netherlands. Very pleasant but a lot of equipment to test. Unfortunately becouse of all the hassle I wasn’t able to make as many photo’s as I’d liked.
Unfortunatelly the mount didn’t work as it was to small despite it being machined to millspec meassurements. The thought of using a piece of paper around the weaver rail only occured to me next morning.
So I was stuck using the scope mount option. A quick funbling around and it was mounted to the scope.

We first put the target at 30meters. It was spot on! So forgetting to take pictures we quickly moved it to 50 meters.
To be honest without added infrared the unit is practically not useable at more than a 30 yards. With added IR the sight picture was excellent using my Zeiss 6×42 t*. Well the target was setup at 50 and a few shots were taken. It was practically dead on.

After that we moved the target to 80meters. Offcourse we had forgot to take some paint to make the bullseye, so I made a little hole in the cardbord. That proved to be to small to see. So I used my thick posts to centre the cardbord in the crosshairs (reticle #4). Again a few shots.

It appears a bit to the right but the hole was slightly to the left of centre. So it appears to be about 1″ off at 80meters.
Not bad in my opinion. I also was able to look through a dedal 540 with xd4 tube. That picture was significantly better off course. But a bitch to photograph. Helas the dedal didn’t have a mounting ring that would fit on my scope. Luckily someone attending the meet had a scope on which it would fit.

I had the opportunity to look through GEN3 OMNI7 tubes in a PVS7. 72lp/mm, 2250uAlm and SN>30 autogated thinfilmed or filmless?!!!! Very brilliant. No xd4 or XR5 can even come close to those tubes!!! A 3x magnifier didn’t do squat to the sight picture.
Also looked through 2 xd4’s, some ATN stuff, a few dipol and dedal scopes!!
Here’s some random stuff…

Not really an issue anymore because it was a NV meet, but it looks like it has a LaRue (or clone) quick release and not the A.R.M.S. You can tighten the nut to give a firmer grip if its LaRue.
