Proposed regulator for AA S410
Hey guys, I have a spare paintball regulator at home and was wondering.
If I made a bushing that had paintball tank threads, and was O-ring sealed to the outside of the tube, Could I use the paintball regulator?
Im pretty sure I can, But not too sure how the components (Burst disks etc. would stand up to external pressure, Would it be better to just take them out and use plugs to seal off the holes?
Im pretty sure that the function of the regulator piston wouldnt be affected, Due to the seals having the withstand 3000psi when functioning normally, and all Im doing is raising the outside pressure which would be equal in all areas of the piston.
I think it would be worth a try??

I’ll be drilling the vent in my S400C tube as well…
Thank you as well for your input.
What exactly do you mean by a sealing issue and deburring? Do you mean the burr from the hole you drilled and that caused one of the the o-ring to be damaged when inserted into the air cylinder?
Thanks again.
Yes, sir… I didnt properly debur the hole I drilled…. was in a hurry to see how the reg would work… and of course ended up nicking an O-ring. A bit more caution and a little silicone grease and all was well!
Easy install!!
not drilling the vent was meant as a short term test to be sure you wanted to keep the reg 🙂

I did drill the vent hole, yes…. I had questioned that myself and had a few folks to tell me it wasnt needed… and Walt had mentioned I should do it… I am not a newbie by no means, but I know who I should listen to and so I drilled the vent. Had a sealing issue that was fixed with a little deburring and a little more attention to detail, but after that… all is well.

I put one in an AAS400 MPR FT and it’s giving me 115 shots at 13fpe… very consistent. That at a 100 bar output. The other is 120 bar output and is going to go on my S400Carbine with Classic tube… havent installed yet, but with the weather supposed to be shitty this weekend, I just might.
During your testing stage did you drill the small vent hole in your air cylinder or did you skip that part?
you could get away without a vent until a bit of pressure leaks into the spring case. At that time you lose regulation and so a tear down would be required.
For testing the reg to confirm you like it skip the vent so you don’t wreck your airtube.
Luck
Walter….
Thanks V1
Once I get it I’ll take some pics and get some chrony numbers posted here and on CAF.
Cheers.

Was wondering what would come of it. I got my regs direct from Audryus for 65 Euro or so… Quite inexpensive, I think.

x2 ^^^^^^
I just ordered my reg for my S410 Xtra FAC and had them preset to 140BAR which will give you the 30ft/lb +/- a few. Yet still adjustable for fine tuning.
Should be getting it soon… but not soon enough 🙁

I think it’s made by someone with a login name of Audriusize and it looks like this

Dave, there is a regulator being made already that will work on the 410….. It
is being imported by Vincent Van Gerven… You will need to measure the ID
of the air tube to get one made the right diameter. If you are fortunate, the
ID will be the same as the Marauder. There also needs to be a space
between the regulator and the air valve to give you a reservoir of sorts to
hold enough air for each shot… I think it would be best described as a
spacer.

It is the same regulator that they are putting in the Marauder…. I had one
custom made for my Beeman Falcon…. $100.00 shipped. I should have mine
in a week or so and will post results if you want to wait to see how well if
works…
Thats fine, I would rather have a post telling me its a waste of time than no replies at all.
Thanks
Dave
Think you’d be best off selling/giving that away and buying a regulator made specifically for the AA.
Trying to use the one you have will just lead to expense, tears and bloodshed.
Everyone else is thinking the same thing, but they are too polite to say it hence no replies. I however, am not affected by that disability 😈
