Q:

TT vs. GTBJ Shroud?

The reviews I’ve read of the GTBJ shroud have been positive and they seem very quiet. Has anyone had experience with both shrouds? Which one is quieter overall? Any cons of either?

I’d love to purchase the GTBJ but I sent Scott an email and PM over a month ago and haven’t heard back. Anyone know if he’s still making these? I also checked the TT website and no mention of shrouds though they’re are some nice pictures of their handywork.

Looking for some advice.

I’ve tried The TT-GTBJ and The Yellow z here.

Results.

TT= Super Quiet. Very Very light! Nice! 😀 Long!!!

Yellow-Z Hell bent for stout. A real professional unit. Very quiet. Hammer slap driving me nuts! Only very slightly behind TT for sound, if at all. C
compact and heavier than the others. Damed good looking unit!

GTBJ= Very inexpensive, came on a second hand condor. Fairly quiet. especially for the money. Definitely not TT or Yellow-Z quiet, but back yard friendly.

Thanks to all… 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’ll try to search in youtube

Jkaleido,

You can also search air rifle silencers on you tube. There are many
videos showing the internals of air rifle mods. You can get a good
idea of how to fabricate one. Like Airgunner said look back through
the posts here and you will also be able to get a basic idea of how
to design one for yourself.

The insides of those devices are not available as they are carefully guarded by the guys who design and build them. There are several references to building your own moderator here

The monster came today and it is quiet as a mouse using the 32 gr Eun Jins with the TT shroud !

I tried a regular 14 grain Crosman Premier and that sonic crack is way too coooooolllllllll.

I took the TT shroud off and let a Eun Jin 32 gr fly.
Whoa !!

You are right – Might as well be shooting the 22 Long Rifle with CCI Stingers 🙂

I think I have a winner here with the TT shroud !

Hello….

I have tried twice to buy a shroud to different people in this forum, but it was impossible for the ambiguity of the laws regarding silencers and sending them to Spain.

Right now I’m trying to build one, but I have some doubts about its interior construction. Can I have a picture of the inside of GTBJ shroud or TT shroud to help in its construction? Or is perhaps a secret and his makers prefer not to disclose? Does anyone know the dimensions and weight of these shrouds?

Many thanks and sorry for my english 😳

don’t think you could go wrong with that order. you sure have to have the shroud, i tried to shoot mine around the house with out one and i might as well have been shooting a 22 long rifle. now my condor is the quietest thing i have , i think its quieter than my bow.

Thanks for the help fellas !
I’ll find out for sure Monday 🙂
Called Tony and ordered the Bird – Condor 22 cal – and TT shroud.

Can’t wait to see this much power be that quiet !!

May have to set that Marauder aside 🙁

I have a TT shroud on my .25 Condor and the only sound you here is the TWACK of the pellet hitting what ever you were aiming at.

I do NOT know about the TT shroud, but I do have a GTBJ shroud on my TSS and I can positively tell you that if it were any quieter you’d be tearing gun down to see where the pellet went..NO JOKE !! Mine is so quiet, that first time I shot it I went back inside and shot it over the chrony to see what was wrong, cause it sounded like it had about 20 psi, instead of the 2800psi that I knew it had..I am talking about “mouse fart quiet”…..and I LOVE IT 😆 😆 😆 😆

Excellent – Thanks for the info
How long is the waiting list for one of his shrouds ?

TT is quieter than the airhog by all accounts. Airhog is decent enough from reports here, but the TT is near silent.

How well does the TT shroud tame the Condor at full power.

I am getting ready to order the 22 cal Condor and need to keep it quiet as can be. Neighbors get a might testie around here !

I currently have a 22 cal Marauder set wide open and it’s pretty quiet, neighbors never know I’m shooting.

I have been going back and forth between air hog’s shroud and the TT for the condor.

Any recommendations welcomed !!

TT Shroud is probably the best arround.
A bit more expensive, but worth it!!!
