My lathe purchase
Well, I finally broke my chinese lathe and decided that I needed a better lathe.
I needed something with a large spindle bore, heavy, rigid and more powerful.
I looked around on ebay and found one that was only 20 minutes drive from my house.
Well, after going and seeing the late, I won the bidding and I just need to arrange collection and transporting.
It is a Colchester Chipmaster that has been converted to single phase. Its got a 35mm spindle bore (Just over 1.25″) Which will let my chuck through shrouds, long piece of brass for multiple valves etc. It came with the following
3 jaw chuck
4 jaw chuck
Faceplate
Catch plate for turning between centres
Follow steady
So much more solid than anything for the price, good old english engineering. Solid and rigid as a rock
This lathe (Not the actual one but make and model)

And this is the ebay listing

Managed to get it under £400 (About $600)
What you guys think?
