I wonder what they are shooting? Is it 20mm explosive cannon shells?
It’s obviously automatic, but the cyclical rate seems very slow, which leads me to believe cannon fire.

Hoot 😯

I have no idea if they have some kind of muffler type system on them .
(my understanding is the blade tips break the sound barrier)

I would think that would be classified .

But I remember when I was on the rifle range once , and they came in to the left of us very low, just above the trees

We didnt hear them until it was to late , I remember thinking they would have caught everybody!! In what seemed like a few seconds they were over our heads and gone

It was about 400-500 yards out before we heard them. Just about point blank range for them , and they wernt loud either.

That’ll be Blue Thunder then… 😉 😆

I thought the Apache had a silent/stealth mode
it could go into
Someone who knows chime in
Can’t recall if it was at an airshow or some dumb ass sitcom
🙄 ❓ 🙄

SAW

I understand you won’t hear something far enough away, but I don’t think they are that far out. I think they are a bit closer than that.

Yea America shoot them ther taliban sons a bitches! OK i started it let them fly! lol
I want one of tham dam apache helicopters seems like more fun then shooting groundhogs with my condor!
Hey can I get tha Night vision hook up on my condor?
I really like the idea of videos! wow
Probably nothing left for a head mount though?

Rooting for nobody, just trying to be objective, Voltar. It is what it is.

quote Ambush Hunter:

Let’s clarify something here, you won’t hear a damn thing that is a mile high off the ground. Just like you won’t here a rifle shot from 1000 yards away. And as far as Taliban goes, they are stupid alright that they kicked the Soviets in the ass and doing the same thing with the Americans. Besides, WE have TRAINED them years and years ago. I guess that makes US stupid, too.

So who are you rooting for?

Lama, well yes they are stupid, they’re Taliban. But thanks to our news media they won’t be THAT STUPID much longer. I hope this didn’t come out until after a change was made …. .. …. ..

Are they stupid?

I mean, honestly. We have seen these videos of apache gunships taking out people over and over again. What idiot would be walking around outside with a group of guys and guns, and not take cover when they hear the helicopter? Judging by the sound of the shooting to impact, they are a ways off, but again, why do they not realize that we can hit them? An apache is not a quiet helicopter. I just can’t figure out why they never seem to dive into cover as soon as they hear the thing.

Another thing, it took 10 minutes for them to get clearance to fire. That has to be sped up. What if they hadn’t been seen until they got closer? That 10 minutes could have been enough time for them to launch a few rpg’s into the base. It should go, “hostiles with weapons, requesting clearance to fire.” and then after a quick looking over, “roger that, fire” The more time it takes for them to get clearance the more time the bad guys could kill one of our guys.

They can likely hear flights all the time so become used to it.

I’m sure that it wasn’t “hey can I fire”….. 10 minutes later “yes”. More like they are watching them for ten minutes monitoring their activity. If they had of started shooting then the ROE changes and swifter action is taken.

Not that I’m complaining. If they want to hang out and get picked off then I’m good with that. Just seems strange.
