I’ve been saving money for a jack Haley .45 and when my buddy told me he was selling his thunder 5 I decided that I had to have it….their is just something to be said for five rounds of 3″ .410 or .45 long colt heading down range as fast as you can pull the trigger and have this in a hand cannon….ill post some pics when I get home…..

Roach…my dad bought a judge and it is different but for the price I couldn’t pass this one up…plus this fulfills all the needs I have for home protection….lots of bang with out over penetration plus a wide selection of ammo choices..

Where I used to live, in southeast Oregon, it is cattle country. The cowboys who rode heard most of the day liked them because they could shoot bulls with birdshot, it would not penetrate the skin and would get them moving. They like to fight, and getting the herd from one place to another with a couple thousand pounds of fighting bulls made it difficult.
One year I had two bulls fighting in my yard most of the summer, they belonged to a rancher who trespassed on my place with his cattle , I used a 12 guage and #6’s the bulls would ignore it past 40 yards.
But the 45 functions as mainly a press and shoot, meaning you press it against whatever you want to shoot. But it gave those mounted hoursemen a shotgun that could be used as a handgun and as such very useful .
The Judge is a different animal all together.

i have a piece of picatiny rail that im gonna try and mount infront of the trigger guard so i can mount a weapon light…what do you guys think?? 🙄

Yea 3″ 000 buckshot = 5 pellets heading down range in one shot….I can’t wait to get out and shoot some targets to get a good idea of the patterning… 😈 but I am thinking that I’m gonna have to sell my little derringer style .45/.410 now..
Well you don’t have to worry about a defence gun anymore, a 410 at close range will take off most of the head.
Yea this was just bad/good timing on my part…..I was dropping a scuba tank and fill adaptor off at my buddies house when he showed me his new judge and I had to ask what he was gonna do with his now my thunder five…..
I hate it when that happens.
When I’m saving up for something in particular (as I am now) I avoid all gun stores, try not to look in classified sections on forums, and never read the classifieds in the newspaper. It’s just too tempting.
Although it doesn’t help. Despite my efforts, I managed to bring home a rangefinder a while back. There goes $200 from the project. 🙄

For what you intend it for it will be fine, while I doubt it will acually take a mans head off, unless it is a self inflicted wound, and even not then, I can’t imagine the hurt that thing will inflict.
Don’t you just love new toys?
When you get the rail on it, put one of those flashlight laser combos, like the Insight m6’s on it, that would make a nice home defence weapon.
