Q:

.25 UK Patriot at 50 Yards!

Been shooting this hammer open-sighted for a long time. Finally decided to scope it up with Burris Timberline and BKL 260 1pc mount. I keep my fingers crossed – BKL has no bars/stop pins for Webley guns. So far I fired 100 or so rounds, no problem. BUT I am thinking of putting EFR on it since it’s 4 oz lighter than Burris. Will see. A mildot reticule will sure be fantastic on that Leupy. Anyway, I tested both Beeman FTS and H&N Trophy which are the “same” pellets. I am happy with a 3/4″ group with both pellets at 50 yards but FTS (top) shot a bit higher than Trophy (bottom). Both managed to punch 3/4″ groups for 3 shots each. So far so good. I also remember the difference between Baracuda and Kodiak in my .177 TX200HC. Both shot virtually identical but with different POI. I guess there is a difference between “brand” and “rebrand.” 😉
I set the scope power on 10. This 20 grain pill is a serious varmint medicine at almost 29 FPE. Outstanding performer with faded but great history!

Nice, Rob! I’ve seen these groups before. Springers are capable of excellent, almost PCP-kind of accuracy. One just needs to master them to that level.

Glad to see someone else enjoying the bigger spring guns.

Always bothersome to hear folks say that a big springer cannot be accurate. I’m thinking these are the same folks who simply cannot cock them and just dismiss them… 😆

Anyway, here are a few groups I’ve done with my Patriot and Kodiak….

This should have been Patriot…. my Kodiak is in .25
