Q:

Lathe Recomendations

To start out do I really need a mill?

Also what about one of the Combo lathe/Mills? Worth it or keep it seperate?

I am looking at this lathe to get started.

looks good , better then one of mine by alot .
150rpm low speed is fast if you are planing on cutting threads ,
if not then it seems like a good machine .
also id recomend getting one as big as you can . depends what your doing with it asto how big .

Yes you need a mill. As big as you have space for and your floor will support. The same goes for a lathe. You can do fine work on a big lathe but you can’t do big work on a small lathe. Buy more than you think you will ever need and you will save money and you will be able to do things you can’t dream of. Have fun .JFW

That is a pretty good machine. You can get a milling attacment for it that will allow you to do some work on it as well.
