Q:

Here are some pics of that stainless 2260 cart pistol…

…I’ve been workin on.

She is shooting straight and hard. In the last tear down I had to go with a stock Crosman stem guide as the modified guide from Roy at mountain air had an old O ring in it which finally failed…and I did not have any replacements. For some reason the size of the stemguide I have from one of his guns (I have no idea when it was made…) is smaller (see photos below). Many of you know this stem guide mod (the cutting down of the threads for better flow, etc.) and what I have discovered is a difference of 20 to 25 fps between the stock guide and the modified guide. I was able to get the larger o ring into the modified (smaller) guide, but I did not want to chance putting it back together only to find it leaking… With this modified guide I achieved a high FPS of 613 with a 14″ barrel.

I also ran into the problem of some of the carts being too snug in the tube and like an idiot I pushed harder (MONGO) and was not able to get the empty cart out of the pistol so I had to take it apart once more. When I took it apart I decided to try out a “Flow Through” bolt that I bought and when I put it back together I was loosing 100 fps due to the O ring on the probe being too small for my breech…SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I had to tear it down once again (I am curious as to the fps gain that can be had from a flow through bolt, anyone know???):x

She is shooting 1/2″ groups @ 20 yards with jsb exact 16.1 gr

The tube and other stainless parts are from Don Cothran. The barrel is from Alejandro, AC custom. TKO trigger kit. The grips are from Rick (They are unreal, truly amazing work!!!) the valve is a stock Crosman with angled flow mod and a Countersunk TP (thankfully instructed by Walt…and man I have to tell you this mod is a MUST! I really saw some serious fps gains (nearly 40) when I countersunk the poly tubing into the valve and into Alejandros barrel!) Stock valve spring and hammer spring (I tried a heavier hammer spring but it did nothing more than make the cocking go from smooth to ruff… I suppose such a spring would benefit a PCP gun…not Co2, correct me if I’m wrong). The rest of the stainless and polished parts were picked up from various gents on the Yellow.

Here she is:

Ok when you build them IO will be in line!

Thanks Slayer…but I am learning as I go. There are plenty of Professional builders out their selling top notch 22xx’s. I will have fun with them for awhile and of course some of them will go up for sale…I have started my “dream gun” collection bucket. When the time comes i will get opinions from all my brethren here…but for now it looks like:

Rapid

Edgun

Air Ranger

In no particular order….

Ok when you build them IO will be in line!

Looks sweet! 😯 😎

Ok ?!
So it’s not an special Powerhouse orso.. 😉
It needs a Boss valve then !.. 😎

Then the looks and power comes together !.. 😈
It’s a beauty ❗

greetingsss…Guido 😛

Guido,

In some of my other posts I did some valve comparisons. The boss valve won’t give me any more power than this “modified” crosman valve will. In fact, I did have my Boss valve in it for a few days….

I don’t think of Co2 cart guns as “power” guns. I am building some for Power…but they will be in PCP and HPA configurations…Thanks.

Nice!! Grit 😎 😎

Guido,

it is a .22 With the modified stem guide (the shorter one in the picture) it has achieved 613 fps shooting the 14.3 cp’s. With the stock Crosman stem guide it hits 590 fps

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Daanng that thing is sweet!
