Can you fit a 12" barrel to a condor ?
Hi guys only new to the world of these AF guns did a search but could not find an answer.
Can a 12β barrel be fitted to the condor and if so will it sit very far in from the end cap ?
I was thinking if I fitted a short barrel and a Vented Barrel Bushing it might make the gun quieter would this be the case?
In a way I am asking can I turn a condor into a Talon SS ?
I have a .22 condor well itβs paid for just waiting for all the licensing to come through. The AF guns are not available over here so to get your hands on one is very hard and if somebody does bring one in you only have one choose under our laws condor.
Thx

No Problem, I’ll post more stats once I get my scuba tank filled back to 3000.
I wanna see what that 12″ barrel will do up around a 2900 psi fill
Eun Jins – 943 fps
Kodiaks – 1050 fps
12″ Barrel 2000 PSI fill – Powerwheel set at 8
Kodiaks – 853 fps
Predator Polymags – 910 fps
Crosman CP’s – 944 fps
The 12″ barrel is loving these polymags – Serious Groups at 50 yards π
PERFECT! Thank you.

This thing is punching one hole groups at 50 yards with Predator Polymags.
Can’t wait for Scott’s GTBJ shroud for it π
.1. Do you have a Chrony? If you do, or if you don’t, I’m sure you can guess the next round of questions based on your answer to my first question.
Got the 12″ barrel – LOVE IT !!!!!

I’ve got a .20 12″ Bbl. here that works even better than a .22 in the shorth SS. It can still keep a good velocity without a lot of air use. π
Yes you can. It is called a Condor SS.

I ordered a GTBJ shroud from Scott to take care of the noise problem.
I am not too worried about the velocity loss going from 24 down to 12 “.
Don’t want those Kodiak Heavies going supersonic !
Guess I will have to see how the rifle performs once the new barrel gets here and get back to you.
All the talk about changing the top hat settings and different tanks has got me wondering now.
I was hoping I wouldn’t have to change much other than the barrel to get where I wanted to be β
Sounds like I might have some tinkering to do after reading all the above.
Kind of a pisser cause I was getting a TON of good shots on the 24″ barrel on a 2000 psi fill.
Anything higher than 2000 sent the Kodiaks supersonic.
I was hoping I could just bump up the tank fill pressure when the 12″ barrel arrives and still get the same performance and most of all A SHORTER GUN !!!!!
This 24” barrel and TT shroud are way too long when trying to sneak around the swamps in North Carolina π
Tunnel Rat,
Anthing I can do to help you let me know, as you see I have done that.
And both my 82 lb asian wife and I say, don’t change that avatar unless you mke the entire thing a little smaller.

You have been a very big help thanks for your advise. I better try and find that reference section you talk about and have a long read.
Parts so far have been ok I have some wok gear coming and a AR15 handgrip. Time will tell if they make it all the way to me.
thx

Tunnel Rat,
This probably sounds complicated, but within a few weeks of getting that Condor, with the correct allen wrenches and the advice in the reference sections here, you will be able to change from a 24″ Condor to a 12″ Condor SS in about 10 minutes or less.
By the way, you will also loose velocity, but your performance will be roughly between a stock SS and a Condor.
You have a lot of learning ahead of you, it is fun and not really difficult. Your greatest difficulty of course will be the availabiltiy of parts, I do not know how hard it is for you to order parts and get them there.
I hope this answers some of your questions.

I know what you mean but I have a major starling problem in an area that would be best if nobody could hear much going on if you know what I mean.
I would not be leaving it in that format all the time just for that one purpose.
I get your point βbreast reduction no wayβ
I just ordered a 12″ barrel to replace the 24″ inch one on my Condor π
Perfect can you get back to me on what you think about your 12″ barrel when you get it please? Did you also order the end cap and did you ordered the 12″ barrel for the purpose of making it quieter?
Good luck
Roachcreek
Wow thanks for all that info just what i needed before i started ordering parts in.
Now with the loss of air are you saying if I order a new Talon tank as well this will stop this problem ? And if I do order a 12″ barrel, end cap & Talon tank would then have a complete talon SS all performing the same as a Talon SS ?
Sorry for all these question
A big thanks for all the help so far guys.
thx

Tunnel rat,
Yes you can indeed put a 12″ barrel in a condor. The difference between the Condor and the Talon SS is as you have seen a 12′ barrel and a valve that put out less air and a different end cap. This makes the SS very quiet compared to the Condor.
Many on this forum have done this.
You will loose velocity and you will gain noise, and you will have a much shorter air gun. Not as much noise as you have with the Condor, but considerably louder than a SS.
Some of this additional noise can be midigated, by venting the front barrel bushing and adding baffles and spacers to the inside of the frame between the end of the barrel and in front of the SS end cap that you will need to buy. In the Reference section of this forum there are articles on how to add the baffles and spacers, they are as simple as 1 inchX1/4 inch fender washers and 1 inch copper pipe unions.
You will also be wasting air, this loss can be lessened somewhat by adjusting your top hat clearance so that the pellet is close to the end of the barrel when the valve closes. However you will still waste a lot of air compared to a Talon SS.
When I did it to my Condor, I also purchased a Talon tank so that I could have both a Talon ss and Condor.
Good luck

I sure hope ya can.
