Q:

What would be the best .22 barrel length????

I have a stock .22 LW barrel for my Condor and as well a .25 LW barrel and 858cc tank.

The question is what barrel length would provide the best balance in performance and compactness?

What I am striving for is get a shorter Condor with decent power and while I have a RWS brake for my .25 setup the longer .25 barrel and brake starts getting a little long and heavy.

So 18, 19, or 20 inch what will be the best balance and maybe 16 grain Predator pellets for pests.

I am hoping to fling them still around 1000 fps.

Thanks

Randy

18″ it is thanks everyone.

From a “gun balance” standpoint I like the 18″ barrel. I had the 24″ but the gun just seems like it was made for an 18″ barrel. But I haven’t tried a smaller one so my view is a bit one sided.

Plus a shorter barrel will help with keeping the 16gr speed down with that condor valve..

I think an 18 incher is the best balance if your going to run a shroud which will only add 6 to 7 inches to the frame depending on who builds it (stock condor length), but with you up there in that country that doesn’t allow them I would most likely run a 20 incher for that wee bit more power than an 18 and still keep things compact.
