Voltar1 tuned my 9mm
I sent my Shinsung 201 9mm to Voltar1 to have him go over the gun and try to tweek it into more power and he did do that ! Walter increased velocity by about 100 fps. What a diffrence this makes ! Before I sent Walter the 9mm it shot .125gr slugs at a fill pressure of 3000psi @ 706-715 then it would drop off,
Today I took the 9mm out to test it for the first time after recieving it back,. I only had 2800psi so therefore I couldn’t do the 3000 psi tests I wanted to do. Here are resultes of a 2800 psi fill shooting 125gr. slugs 789-805-796-771-752-746 fps which = 172 fpe high and 154 fpe low .
Now what was interesting was I also made some slugs at .356 and a fill pressure of 2800 psi gave the following results 801-807-794-775-760-745, I believe the gun shoots .356 best Maybe 357 has too much drag in the barrel.
Before I sent the Shinsung to Walter .360 roundballs were shooting in the 870’s for about 3 shoots then velocities started to drop .After Walters tune they were shooting 978-956-954-937-925 @ approx. 2700pis fill.
Here is an interesting shot string, I shot six 125gr,slugs and the last shot was 745fps. I then switched to roundball without refilling and on low powwer I got 860-861-851-836-821-817-814. Not bad for low power !
Walter machined and installed another valve stem fro more power and I still have the old one for back up/ He also machined a new fill probe for me which worked beautiful !.
Walter could have tuned the gun so it would shoot 125gr slugs in the high 900’s but changes would have been irreversable. Plus I wanted more then just three high power shots. So he tuned it just as I asked and when he said he was happy that’s when I said ” if your happy then I’m happy ”
This 9mm is unbelievably powerful !! Now I have to decide when I’ll send my 45 cal. Samyang to him
Am I happy…… OH YA !!
