Q:

scope problem?

I just sighted my stevens 200 .223 for the first time at my range which is the only spot to shoot in this county. It only goes back I think it’s 25 meters…I know it sucks,

so I used a vortex diamondback (3.5-10×50) and I was on paper at say 10 meters (I sight close at first to get on paper), and then I zoomed in all the way and put it to 25 meters. I adjusted for it to shoot down, and at 25 meters, it was around 5 inches high? Do I need to shim the scope or anything I know it’s probably an easy solution but here it’s 12$ for 20 round so I don’t wanna waste more ammo than I have to. And also I dunno wtf i’m doing lol it’s my first centerfire.

Thanks alot!! 😉

Okay I’ll give that a try and shoot it farther, thanks! 😎

Hunter I will have to agree with Dave, but what you really need to do is stretch it out to 100 meters to know what your gun is doing, a good rule of thumb is one inch high at 100 meters, that will put you right on target at 200 meters. It is just to hard to set things up as close as you are with what you have that caliber is meant to be shot a long distances! And to answer your question I don’t think you will need to shim your scope you just need to get some distance to shoot in order to see where you are shooting!

Just adjust it down.

Because you got it zeroed at 10 yards, the angle of the barrel is pretty huge to meet the line of sight through the scope.

Roughly, from a 10 yard zero, to a 25 yard zero, you would have to adjust down around 30 clicks
