Q:

20 months in hospital, finally shoot condor again, and it…

SUCKED! Man I was sooooo disappointed! I made sure she was all pumped and ready to go fire some rounds in the backyard with my pops. SO I am talking all sorts of crap about how good of a shot this rifle is, blah blah blah…er rather I should have said “Hey Dad, can you hand me that shovel over there and watch me dig a hole….look how quickly I can do it!)

My 1st full power shot with RWS Super Points 14.5g .22cal pellets at a 2′ by 1.5′ box about 20yrds away. Not only had I missed the box, COMPLETELY, I could have thrown that pellet faster then it came out of that gun. Man, WTF was going on? After adjusting the scope a little, fired another one, missed target high HIGH left. Basically I was shooting like an elephants ass, high and shitty!

I give my Hammers 6-24×50 scope a couple clicks to adjust her to the right about 2″ and down about 4″, I shoot another. HIGH RIGHT! I scratch my head, WTF, how did I adjust it to shoot almost 1ft right with 8 clicks (1/4” / click). So I go back 4 clicks and think I should be aligned right left, and then just work on elevation, right?

WRONG AGAIN, I shot right on top of each shot, shot after shot. And each shot was weak. Should be slamming the cans and the box and then some. but nope, kinda like Muhammad Ali punching you, it may sting, but it doesn’t compare to the punch he used to have! Nor as accurate.

So pops, gets tired of me farting around with the scope, takes it and shoots. Guess what, yup, same spot. HAHAHA, so he just starts cranking the scope, finally get something in the numbers after quite a few tries.

So, I am scratching my head. I look at the scope and see that I am missing a screw that holds the scope. HMMMM Think that could explain the in accuracy, YUP!

So I disassemble Johnny #5 (sorry for the Short Circuit 80’s movie ref.). I clean her out nice and purdy again. BTW my condor is approaching 6 or 7 yrs old, maybe 8. I believe my serial number is XX000086.

I need to go down to Big 5 or something and pick up new mounts. Plus I just got my BlackBird in and it is time to go destroy some phone books, then next weekend out to the mountains to get varmint!

Yeah I know what you saying. I wasn’t trying to argue. I was really asking a serious question.

😆 😆 😆 Aww man here comes the choir. Why is that religious folks always have to push their beliefs out there??? I don’t go around spouting my beliefs unprovoked. Once people go to preaching I mean come on. Don’t get me wrong if it brings better things to your life it’s good. But if all was true these folks (JW’s, LDS’s) wouldn’t be going door to door. There would be no need. I don’t have to convince you water is wet. You can not defend the truth. As far as 80’s statement I was snide and serious. I took it like
“I would believe in it just in case it’s true”. Which to me seems to go against everything about religion. I have seen the higher power. I have been there. I have seen “HIM” except it wasn’t him and human word can never explain it. So I laugh when people try.

PS sorry for the thread high jacking 😳

Dank, Welcome back ❗
I see your Condor needs you. Most things in life are a challenge. Most things we don’t give a second thought to and just do what’s necessary to achieve the wanted solution.
Keep us posted on your experiences with shooting, hunting and care and feeding of your Condor etc.
I’m sorry to hear about the accident but your experience of meeting the Lord is priceless.

BeaneebOy,
At first glance I took your question to be ‘like… a snide remark?’ Then, because you repeated it, I understood that it is a serious question. None of us have traveled the same path to get to this point in our lives so everyone’s point of view is a little different. Insurance of heaven is a great idea. The tough thing is to accept that it is free though very much undeserved to most of us. I was very strong willed and went my own way for many years until I recognized that I had failed to keep my own standards. So finally I began to seek knowledge of the popular Savior that was rejected by His own people. Why was that?… I discovered it had to be, so that All the people of the world could be forgiven for falling short and accepted as sons of God. I didn’t deserve it but He fulfilled hundreds and thousands of years of prophesy of what He would eventually do for each and every person who seeks His word and comes to believe in Him. If you don’t already understand you will soon when you seek knowledge of Him. It ain’t religion, it’s reality.

benneeb0y,

I think the point of 80’s post is that one believes not on the chance of heaven but because it make’s their time on earth meaningful and better.

That little bit of layman’s religion aside, I think this has moved into the OT side and I do want to put one plug in: Don’t shit on your friend’s cherished beliefs!

I understand that nobody here needs to buy into anyone else’s beliefs, religious or otherwise. I do think we owe each other at least just the little bit of kindness we reserve for ex-wives and tax collectors though!

As much as I challenge BS, I think that sometimes, you accept your friends (online or next door) as they are without having to tell them how “wrong” they are on any given thing…

Sorry to be preachy! (And I know I have no authority to be so!)

For those of my Tag Brethren who don’t know the Lord yet, and moreover, the profound reward that a personal relationship (do not insert Joke here 🙂 ) with him brings…I want you to consider this simple analogy:

Think of belief in a personal God and savior (Jesus) like insurance. It is far better to have insurance and never need it, than to need insurance and not have it!

God bless you Gentile heathens 😎

Welcome back “Dank”!

Like I will believe just in case there is a heaven?

Therein lies man’s greatest folly. We search and search outside for lights to illuminate our way out from the darkness. We look towards tomorrow and miss out on today.

We don’t serve the Lord in hope of making it to Heaven. Heaven is what we receive when enter into our humble service. If we don’t get it now, we certainly won’t receive it then.

When the Jewish leaders of his day asked Jesus when the Kingdom of Heaven will come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God commeth not with observation, neither shall they say Lo here! or lo there! for behold, the Kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17: 20, 21

You didn’t answer my question…….. 😆 😆 😆
