20 months in hospital, finally shoot condor again, and it…
SUCKED! Man I was sooooo disappointed! I made sure she was all pumped and ready to go fire some rounds in the backyard with my pops. SO I am talking all sorts of crap about how good of a shot this rifle is, blah blah blah…er rather I should have said “Hey Dad, can you hand me that shovel over there and watch me dig a hole….look how quickly I can do it!)
My 1st full power shot with RWS Super Points 14.5g .22cal pellets at a 2′ by 1.5′ box about 20yrds away. Not only had I missed the box, COMPLETELY, I could have thrown that pellet faster then it came out of that gun. Man, WTF was going on? After adjusting the scope a little, fired another one, missed target high HIGH left. Basically I was shooting like an elephants ass, high and shitty!
I give my Hammers 6-24×50 scope a couple clicks to adjust her to the right about 2″ and down about 4″, I shoot another. HIGH RIGHT! I scratch my head, WTF, how did I adjust it to shoot almost 1ft right with 8 clicks (1/4” / click). So I go back 4 clicks and think I should be aligned right left, and then just work on elevation, right?
WRONG AGAIN, I shot right on top of each shot, shot after shot. And each shot was weak. Should be slamming the cans and the box and then some. but nope, kinda like Muhammad Ali punching you, it may sting, but it doesn’t compare to the punch he used to have! Nor as accurate.
So pops, gets tired of me farting around with the scope, takes it and shoots. Guess what, yup, same spot. HAHAHA, so he just starts cranking the scope, finally get something in the numbers after quite a few tries.
So, I am scratching my head. I look at the scope and see that I am missing a screw that holds the scope. HMMMM Think that could explain the in accuracy, YUP!
So I disassemble Johnny #5 (sorry for the Short Circuit 80’s movie ref.). I clean her out nice and purdy again. BTW my condor is approaching 6 or 7 yrs old, maybe 8. I believe my serial number is XX000086.
I need to go down to Big 5 or something and pick up new mounts. Plus I just got my BlackBird in and it is time to go destroy some phone books, then next weekend out to the mountains to get varmint!
