Max. power / speed for .25 JSB
Hi,
Want to set up my new rifle for the .25 , have a 20″ BSA barrel.
I Know they work nice @t 45 ft/lbs , see nice groups, but what is the max. speed they can have / handle ?
for Ultra long range shooting 125+ yards, not for raw power.
all 100+ yards / 45+ fpe info welcome.

I got out with the .25 a few days ago, and was real happy with the JSB Exacts also. I started with the pw at 6, th at .72 and fill of 2800. JSB’s were getting 1060 fps, groups at 50yards were 1/2 inch. I then tried tuning the pw up to 8, then 10 and the chrono still said 1060. Groups were consistantly 1/2 inch. I wondered what kind of velocity the lighter pellets would get so i tried 17.0 gr lasers and Beeman H&N match 21.6 gr. out of my pellet sampler selection. Velocity was 1100 plus, groups were 4 1/2 inches ! Oh, well i didn’t buy the .25 for max velocity with light pellets anyway, Just thought I’d try them once. Next time out I’ll try Kodiaks and 36 and 42 gr Eunjins. Thanks, Shoot, Shovel and shutup for the report on the Benj .25’s. I’ll have to try a tin.
WOW 1050 ft/sec = 62 fpe that will do the job, nice for longrange fun.
Then I must rebuild my valve a bit more “hi flow” now I have a 5mm diameter, short valve stem.
BSA 24″ Mine group well at 90 yards fps up to 1050. Best seems to be around 980 fps.
The 25 JSBs seem to remain accurate at speeds to 1000 fps and maybe a little more . That should put the fpe in the mid 50s range .

We also orderd a few tin benja.
Need some time to finish the rifle.
Extra steelbar around the triggergroup.
And a good stock from wood.
Then i can do some long range testing of the jsb, baracuda, Benjamin pellets at 950+ at see what cw they have down 150 yards.
And most importend are they still grouping with that speed?
