New SS "The invasive species gun"
I have been trying to pickup a new SS or Condor frame, to put my AirArcher on.
First I dealt with and lost $390.00 from Mitch “the bitch” Glover aka the theiving bastard from Philly, then 80 Grit posted about a SS on the Yellow a couple weeks ago.
Still unable to sit from the fucking from Mitch, I cautiously ordered a SS from a man named Hollis Fenn in South Carolina. Hollis turned out to be a prince of a guy, courteous and speedy in his replies and shipping. I purchased the SS for $350.00 and today it arrived via the brown santa.
I quickly set it up with the red dot sight I have for the AirArcher, it has three dots, I sighted it in for 32 yards with the middle dot, at 7 yards the lower dot is right on.
My Chrony gave a reading of 815 average with 16 grain Exacts and with that red dot at 32 yards, my last two three shot groups while sighting in were .70 and .80.
While walking down to my target, before I shot, I jumped a California ground squirrel off the bird feeders. After sighting in, I put a lawn chair in the garage between the 58 Mercedes and the Subaru Ourback, it took about 15 minutes for the squirrel to show up, I aimed in the middle and ker-whop, he thrashed around and made it to the hedge, I suppose I will get wind of that in a couple days in this heat.
I walk 4 miles 5 or 6 days a week, I walk past a little stream that is a mud hole from Nutria. I am going to set on that stream this summer at night and wait for them to swim by and light them up and get some good practice with that SS. Shots will be in the 7 to 10 yard range, so the bottom red dot will do fine.
I plan on leaving this set up as it is for practice right up to Elk season, then change over.

You use a good synthetic? Turbos really like a good synthetic. Far less coking. Figure you already know this though.

Topgear on BBC, claims it is the ulitmate suv, problem is, remember the stories of the German tanks that were over engeneered during WW2. well……
The thing is a blast to drive, most people go thru front brakes like water because it is so much fun to drive. I had a 350Z before the Allroad, the Z would do 97 MPH in the 1/4, the Allroad with the twin turbos beats it by 7 MPH, and it is a all wheel luxery station wagon!
And yes I push it hard, I like squealing tires and hairpin turns, the Z broke loose a few times, that wakes you up because your almost sitting on that back axle, but I just can’t get the Allroad to spin. So curves in the mountains give you fun you didn’t know existed and does not kill your back doing it.
But the turbos go out, the suspension is truely a pain i the ass to upkeep, and expensive. Having said that, those heated leather seats and the ride it furnishes with the air system is incredible.
I do use that suspension when I am hunting ground squirrels on the lower ends of either vineyard and the all wheel drive is great in the icy snowy conditions we get here in Oregon. The Allroad is suposed to be the best snow car out there by many. It just embodies that saying, “It is like a whore, you love it but you hate what it does to you,” In this case Joe it is what it does to your pocket book.
So bottom line, it is fun, fast comfortable and we use the Subaru when we really want to get back home.

It is a 03 Eddie Bauer, v6, I don’t drive it often, belongs to the lady of the house.

Both of course are all wheel drive, the Audi needs constant attention, the Subaru just keeps on going and going.
Yeah, I have two new drill bits just waiting. I have two Talon valves just need to get some grinding compounds of various grits.

I just cronied my ss after porting and polishing the valve per the “valve Mod” in the sticky section and I gained 100 fps with the jsb 16 gr exacts 😛 Great mod for sure!

I used to have an 06 Subaru WRX. I absolutely loved that car. It was very basic, but fast and fun and handled just great. I can’t say enough good about Subarus. I quit my job and got rid of the WRX but one day I will have another.
